I tried to read a Dean/Castiel/Gabriel (not related to each other) fic, and boy, the threesome scenes were badly described. No idea who was where or why. It wasn't high art to start off with, but when there's no porn payoff, what's the point?
D/C AU reclist. Nothing I hadn't seen there before, and in fact, I'll be making some suggestions, but just in case.
Sam & Dean song like whoa:
Iron & Wine's "Resurrection Fern"
In our days we will live
Like our ghosts will live
Pitching glass at the cornfield crows
And folding clothes
Like stubborn boys across the road
We'll keep everything
Grandma's gun, and the black bear claw
That took her dog
And when sister JoLaurie says "Amen,"
We won't hear anything
The ten-car train will take that word
That fledgling bird
And the falling house across the way
It'll keep everything
The baby's breath, our bravery wasted
And our shame
And we'll undress beside the ashes of the fire
Both our tender bellies wound in bailing wire
All the more a pair of underwater pearls
Than the oak tree and its Resurrection Fern
In our days we will say
What our ghosts will say
We gave the world what it saw fit
And what'd we get?
Like stubborn boys with big green eyes
We'll see everything
In the timid shade of the autumn leaves
And the buzzard's wing
Dunno if it's viddable, but I hope that's on someone's fanmix.
I have decided: there needs to be mandated warnings in fic about which character is going to be villainized. If RPF can warn for even the presence of CMM, then all fic can warn for Evil!Sir. John is NOT a canonical bad guy.
Character bashing should totally be warned for. Sometimes I hate people.
I just saw one of the more interestingly specific theme rec lists I've ever come across: Jared/Jensen nipple piercing fic recs.
I just saw a Dean/Cas fic where Dean is apparently good!incubus!Dean. IDEK.
Having seen and blanked out rec lists for milking, I'm...well, I'm still flinching, and I don't even have a problem with the piercing. Just with the thing...
Yes! highermagic. I was ... befuddled. I didn't go farther than the summary, either.
I, uh, read it. So you don't have to. The sex was rough and angstyish and decently hot. The characterisation was completely irrelevant. Such is highermagic, at least the ones I can read. She wrote one where Dean was a skinwalker and Cas' pet dog, and then she wrote a porny version of that...I skimmed the former and fled the latter.
