Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I have decided: there needs to be mandated warnings in fic about which character is going to be villainized. If RPF can warn for even the presence of CMM, then all fic can warn for Evil!Sir. John is NOT a canonical bad guy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Character bashing should totally be warned for. Sometimes I hate people.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I just saw one of the more interestingly specific theme rec lists I've ever come across: Jared/Jensen nipple piercing fic recs.

Because books.

I just saw a Dean/Cas fic where Dean is apparently good!incubus!Dean. IDEK.

Having seen and blanked out rec lists for milking, I'm...well, I'm still flinching, and I don't even have a problem with the piercing. Just with the thing...

highermagic! Right??

Yes! highermagic. I was ... befuddled. I didn't go farther than the summary, either.

I, uh, read it. So you don't have to. The sex was rough and angstyish and decently hot. The characterisation was completely irrelevant. Such is highermagic, at least the ones I can read. She wrote one where Dean was a skinwalker and Cas' pet dog, and then she wrote a porny version of that...I skimmed the former and fled the latter.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

How did I not catch that Dean winks at Castiel in the next shot after the infamous "last time someone looked at me like that" line in "Point of No Return"?

OMG, where were you? It was his second most important wink of the season (uh, were there more than two?). I love that wink. Of course, I may have had special goggles on for that scene, which highlight winks and throw them into extra super HD.

I realised that when I did a spot count of the number of times the boys have been shirtless over the series, I missed What Is and What Should Never Be. I'm actually a bit heartened that I didn't know them all. Because that would be creepy.
