I'm hoping Sam just hasn't realized yet that he's not always in control.

Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I think Sam feels he's more in control than ever before.
I think Sam feels he's more in control than ever before.
I think they've beaten that character trope/storyline into the ground already though, haven't they? Sam's arrogant, Sam's a control freak, Sam's proud, oops, he's going evil again... I'm relieved it looks as though we might finally be getting at some answers next week. I'm hoping we can do it with a minimum of fisticuffs, because I don't enjoy watching them whale away on one another.
Y'know, the episode started out as so much fun, and then it just got all dark and disturbing.
I'm finally watching, about halfway through.
Does anyone else think that this is absolutely terrible? From Sam's flaily hands as he or Jared spectacularly fails at pretending to attack the vamp, to the dialogue long after the Twilight mocking should have been over, to Dean's squinty eyes of evil. Hell even the lighting and texture within a scene changes depending which actor the shot is on. I didn't even look like Sampa and Dean were in the same country, let alone the same room.
I'll rewatch later today when I'm actually awake and it's not 4am, and hopefully I'll be less bitchy. Maybe too much Twilight going on right now, between this and Polar Night.
Also note that we have had to deal with "Alpha" shifters and now "Alpha" vamps. And maybe the werewolves outside the full moon were "Alpha" wolves. (Except we've already had an ep with a werewolf that changed outside the full moon.) And yeah, I'm hoping whatever is wrong with Sam is not his fault.
And when Sampa thinks you're off, you're off.
That was an excellent twist. I think, too, when Sampa said to Dean, "I'm not here to kill you, I'm here to save you," Sam's reaction was more than surprise. It almost sounded like ... unhappy surprise.
It bothered me when Sampa said that Dean must have "some Campbell in him" after all, though. He's a WINCHESTER. Hi, irrational hot button.
Dean pushing Lisa against the wall = inappropriately badwrongdirty HOT.
Also? Kripke's got to lay off reading the fanfic. Yes, we all know, and have read, how pretty Dean is. Thanks. Got it. Glad you're in the club, though.
I have to rewatch. That moment when Sam waits and watches hit like the proverbial ton of bricks. SAM. What's going on there, dude?!
Does anyone else think that this is absolutely terrible?
No. It hit me on more levels than an episode had in a while. I'm left wondering about Sam, Dean, Sampa, Lisa, and Ben. The actual story made me tense, and had creepy and disturbing visuals, not just jump-out-of-my-seat scary ones.
So if Sam stood and watched, and then seemed all anxious to get the vamp off Dean, seemed firm that he wouldn't kill Dean, and then seemed surprised Sampa had a cure...what the hell gives?
(Oh, and Morgana--when allies beat each other down? Just another one of my bulletproof kinks. No, I know it's not healthy. But Sex & Violence for the win)
I'm left wondering about Sam, Dean, Sampa, Lisa, and Ben.
The sort of role reversal with Sam and Sampa was really unexpected and confusing (and intriguing).
I think they rushed the phone call/voicemail with Lisa, though, because I wasn't clear what actually happened there. Did he want to leave her a message and then changed his mind? If he just fails to show up again after the appearance with the blood lust, I'm sure (in my head anyway) Lisa wouldn't let it stand at that.

Maybe Sam (or whoever or whatever is controlling or faking Sam) had another way to de-vamp Dean, one that would force Dean to align himself with whatever is making Sam all wrong. Sort of like setting Dean up to make a cross-roads deal, only, I hope, with something other than exactly that, as it's been so very done in this show.
Sam's reaction was more than surprise. It almost sounded like ... unhappy surprise.
But, he knew about the cure. I think he let Dean get vamped to get information with the knowledge he'd be cured.
I think Sam's in "by any means necessary" mode.
I didn't love the episode, the Twilight mocking was not nearly mock-y enough for me. I am not a fan of a vampire "cure" either, and therefore not a fan of Dean getting turned.
I liked the complications with Lisa and Ben, this is when the family-dynamic gets interesting. How do you keep Dean in your life, Vamp Dean aside? You're asking to get hurt.
I'm glad the Sam reveal is soon, Jared's Sam is so cold it's creepy. I love that Sampa glommed onto it too. I hope he shares his fears with Dean or vice versa.
Dean in the nest was awesome. Bride-epic, a trail of headless bodies.
Okay maybe I liked it more than I thought.
ETA: How creepy was it when Dean was standing watching Lisa sleep shortly after calling it out as a "rapey" thing to do. Which what?
