So any guesses as to whom Grandpa is taking orders from?
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

Deana!!
No, I don't know, but that would have been awesome.
I'm interested in knowing what Bobby thinks of the Campbells. Last week, it didn't seem that he was really involved in Sam's current activities so he may not have met up with them yet. Bobby has good instincts and less family baggage -I'm hoping those story lines intersect and we can see if Sam is being too accepting or Dean is being too paranoid.

Samuel is taking orders from somebody.
Also I'm wondering if whoever is giving Samuel orders is the big bad. As a twist I'm wondering if it is Castiel giving the orders. As a double reverse twist I'm wondering if Castiel is giving the orders and also the big bad.
(Yes Castiel could do extremely evil stuff as long as he was convinced it was the right thing to do. And having to take down Castiel would bring Dean the old manpain.)
I'd be surprised if Castiel is more than a source of friction for the boys. And I don't necessarily mean porn. I wonder how fandom would deal with him flipping entirely to the Heaven-doesn't-care-for-Winchester side. I see him more on the better-things-to-do side. He'll deign to have time for them. His fond moments with the abomination or Chastity will be long gone.
Yeah, not a prediction. Just a passing thought. But he'd manipulate Sam & Dean and let the end justify the means if he thought that was the only way to save either the world or a substantial subset. Don't think Show will go there, but maybe I'll put in on my list of plot bunnies I probably won't get to.
one thing, Sam wasn't in the room to overhear the mentions of "father/our father", unless he hung outside the door for a full minute before coming to the rescue.
Yeah, I wondered about that too. It seemed like they were pushing the "Dean looks at Sam suspiciously" button a little hard there.
There were two Campbells at the gate allowing the boys to drive into their compound with the baby. I assume they're the other two killed by AlphaShifter.
Do not like the Campbells. Do NOT like Gwen Campbell. It makes me wonder what made Mary want to leave hunting.
I hope Sam is being kept in the dark about what Gramps is up to. And I think Gramps knows a bit more about why he and Sam are back than what's been told. (As an aside, I'll bet money all the Campbells we've seen were dead and then resurrected.)
Echoing the Lisa love. Sure, there's still room for dire things to happen to her and Ben later in the season, but I'm so glad they were able to get Dean back hunting with Sam without fridging or turning her into a bitca.
I'm not surprised to see Dean being pretty good with kids. And I'm not taking points off for yelling at Ben when Ben got into the guns. There was a whole bit showing that Dean made a solid effort to keep the Impala guns locked away. (I'd be less forgiving if Ben had been messing with the gun under the bed.) Finding a kid within seconds of possibly blowing his brains out can justify some yelling.
Still, Sam's surprise at Dean's dad skills was a little odd. Didn't we have several flashbacks where Dean was left alone taking care of Sam?
Anyway, I'm glad we have Metallicar back in play, and Dean back with Sam, on the road.
I hope Sam is being kept in the dark about what Gramps is up to.
Which is an odd dynamic, since Samuel keeps looking to Sam for permissions wrt Dean. I mean, it makes some sense, since they want to make Sam feel in control (Rather than getting the creeped-out feeling that Dean is), but, at the same time, if he doesn't know who Samuel is taking orders from, and if he's still, you know, Sam, he should be pushing more to figure out what happened, dammit.
Todd suggested a "what's up with the critters acting weird", that they're being possessed. The shifter's "That's for my father." would make sense in that case, as YED or Lucifer, instead of the shifter from previous seasons.
