Because books.

What was wrong with it, ita?

And I know what you mean, Laga. I'm an Aries pretty much through and through.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Prologue is okay, but not exceptional, where the young twins Jimmy and Castiel Novak move in with the Winchesters. (Second BB fic that's had demons kill Jimmy's parents--poor people)

Chapter one starts off with Dean and Castiel's commitment ceremony. Okay, you've cheated me out of them realising they like each other, first time, etc, lots of stuff I like. But maybe that's just me.

The bit where you explain that Castiel's the bride because Dean and him have been keeping track of who pitched and who caught and Castiel's caught more often? The hell? Now you're just weird.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

oh dear god

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

I just guffawed out loud at work. Yep, no other way to describe it.

Oh, that's not locked into traditional gender roles at all. @_@. Might as well just make Cas the bride because he's shorter. Or because he looks better in pink.

THEY WERE KEEPING TRACK.

THEY NEEDED A BRIDE.

DEAN IS "CASASEXUAL."

I just...I don't know, what even.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Or he looks good in a wedding gown and veil. (Too lazy to search for the pictures)

See, thing is, they both wear suits. They both have exactly the same family (so the fact that there's a bride's side of the church is stupid and irrelevant). There is absolutely no reason for there to be a bride, except for the author to speak about (presumably) her gender stereotype issues. Those two or three paragraphs could just have been left out.

I'm surprised Dean was "catching" at all, if that's her take on it. ICK.
