So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Eh, his hair is still in the dark blond/light brown range enough that I'd lean towards calling him dark blond. Certainly, buying the color in the beauty supply store, it would be labelled blond. (The closest off the rack color I can remember would be the defunct Nice n Easy shade Natural Blonde Brown.) It's light enough that when they actually use full saturation, it doesn't register as brunette to me.

Note, however, that my color definitions are strongly affected by the years I spent fucking around with chemical dyes.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #1/4: Castiel: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. (I remember the chills and the "are they really going there?" from the first watch)

Castiel: You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in. (The first indications that the angels were really not going to be playing nice in this 'verse)

Dean: Sam loves research. He does. He keeps it under his mattress, right next to his KY. It's a sickness, it is. (I love it when the brothers rag on each other)

Chuck: Well there is only one explanation. Obviously I'm a God. A cruel, cruel capricious god. (Hilarious in retrospect)

Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #2/4: Dean: On November 2nd 1983, don't get out of bed. No matter what you hear, or what you see. Promise me you won't get out of bed. (This was a hard choice, because the other one was a hilarious moment. This one broke me, though)

Bobby: Solid iron. Completely coated in salt. One hundred percent ghost-proof. (Classic Bobby)

Dean: You take it any way you want. (The disillusionment is really setting in)

Young Mary Winchester: I want a family. I wanna be safe. You know the worst thing I can think of, the very worst thing, is for my children to be raised into this like I was. (Another hard choice, especially as Dean's rant juxtaposes perfectly against this, but in the end, this moment was a big ol' gut punch)

Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #3/4: Dean: You can take your peace, and shove it up your lily-white ass. 'Cause I'll take the pain, and the guilt, I'll even take Sam as is. It's a lot better than bein' some Stepford Bitch in paradise!

Sam: Dude, you're confusing reality with porn again. (Another perfect brother moment)

Dean: Angel or not, I will stab you in the face.

Dean: How does He live with Himself? You know, why doesn't He help? (A question that is still left unanswered at the end of S5, IMO)

Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #4/4: Sam: So I'm sorry it wasn't me, all right? Dean, I'm sorry.

Dean: I'm sitting in a Laundromat, reading about myself... sitting in a Laundromat reading about myself. My head hurts.

Bobby: They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family!

Castiel: Uriel's the funniest angel in the garrison. Ask anyone.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Dean's are green green. Yet, I caution, not emerald. Because, weird.

Eh, more peridot I think. I suspect jewelry references would probably make the referenced eyes roll.

Sam: Dean, you're not reading more of that fanfic, are you?

Dean: Just the gen stuff.

Sam: We've talked about this.

Dean: They're debating my eye color. "Emerald," Sammy? "Peridot?" Fuckin' "sun-dappled spring leaves"?

Sam: I'd go with "split pea soup" colored, myself.

Dean: . . .

Dean: . . .

Dean: See, this is why I sneak the fic.

Jensen and I have similarly colored hair. I was blond as a child and now I have light brown hair.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I am trapped reading a ridiculously long fic (I could have read Thursday's Child five times over by now, I think) by westernsocks. It's gen altverse apocafic, and the most fascinating thing is all the angels and the politics of heaven. Castiel's garrison plays a fairly big part, and it's kinda awesome in a Band of Brothers way. But, man, do I have to do a lot of skimming.

shit! abandoned fic!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jensen's hair varies in the light more than Jared's, but it's sometimes so damned dark. And even at its lightest, it seems medium brown to me.

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

Count me as someone who never understood the blond Jensen description. I just don't see it.

As for eyes, they both have very changeable eyes. Vancouvernights recently stated they both have hazel eyes and that Jensen's are not green.

I have definitely seen them green in some light and more brownish-green in other light. Hazel is one of those colors that defies description, it can be brownish-green, or green-blue, so I don't think Hazel as an eye color is terribly helpful. I have brownish-green and the dmv labeled them hazel.

I'm labeled hazel, and depending on mood, age, whatev, I fluctuate anywhere from green to blue to grey. I've never understood what a delicious nut has to do with the colour of my eyes.

In reading about hazel (which I always want to capitalize as it was my grandma's name) it seems like it was originally meant to describe eyes that were yellow/gold, brown and green on the spectrum of eye color like the outer shell of a hazel nut.

It seems to have morphed to cover eyes that have changeable color depending on the light.

I love that vancouvernights has been asked for an opinion on the matter. Fans are...well, we are crazy like that. JA's eyes always look greenish to me, and JP's sometimes look brown. I'm not an expert on these vagaries, but by that alone I would label Dean green-eyed and Sam hazel.
