I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Dean's are green green. Yet, I caution, not emerald. Because, weird.

Eh, more peridot I think. I suspect jewelry references would probably make the referenced eyes roll.

Sam: Dean, you're not reading more of that fanfic, are you?

Dean: Just the gen stuff.

Sam: We've talked about this.

Dean: They're debating my eye color. "Emerald," Sammy? "Peridot?" Fuckin' "sun-dappled spring leaves"?

Sam: I'd go with "split pea soup" colored, myself.

Dean: . . .

Dean: . . .

Dean: See, this is why I sneak the fic.

Jensen and I have similarly colored hair. I was blond as a child and now I have light brown hair.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I am trapped reading a ridiculously long fic (I could have read Thursday's Child five times over by now, I think) by westernsocks. It's gen altverse apocafic, and the most fascinating thing is all the angels and the politics of heaven. Castiel's garrison plays a fairly big part, and it's kinda awesome in a Band of Brothers way. But, man, do I have to do a lot of skimming.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jensen's hair varies in the light more than Jared's, but it's sometimes so damned dark. And even at its lightest, it seems medium brown to me.

Count me as someone who never understood the blond Jensen description. I just don't see it.

As for eyes, they both have very changeable eyes. Vancouvernights recently stated they both have hazel eyes and that Jensen's are not green.

I have definitely seen them green in some light and more brownish-green in other light. Hazel is one of those colors that defies description, it can be brownish-green, or green-blue, so I don't think Hazel as an eye color is terribly helpful. I have brownish-green and the dmv labeled them hazel.

I'm labeled hazel, and depending on mood, age, whatev, I fluctuate anywhere from green to blue to grey. I've never understood what a delicious nut has to do with the colour of my eyes.

In reading about hazel (which I always want to capitalize as it was my grandma's name) it seems like it was originally meant to describe eyes that were yellow/gold, brown and green on the spectrum of eye color like the outer shell of a hazel nut.

It seems to have morphed to cover eyes that have changeable color depending on the light.

I love that vancouvernights has been asked for an opinion on the matter. Fans are...well, we are crazy like that. JA's eyes always look greenish to me, and JP's sometimes look brown. I'm not an expert on these vagaries, but by that alone I would label Dean green-eyed and Sam hazel.

Yup. Mostly, she seems pretty good at dodging the crazy. I had to stop following Clif and I may stop following Sam Ferris as I can't handle their tweets. They just propagate the crazy. Misha, on the other hand, is such a joy.

I think they both fall under the new definition of hazel, but they have very different eye color. I think Jensen's green is frequently enhanced by good lighting.

Because books.

Who exactly is vancouvernights?
