Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #1
I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition.
You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in.
I am the prophet Chuck!
Well there is only one explanation. Obviously I'm a God. A cruel, cruel capricious god.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #2
before we get started, what's your safe word?
The whistle makes me their god.
You take it any way you want.
I want a family. I wanna be safe.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #3
I think it's my throat.
Dude, you're confusing reality with porn again.
And the dude will not abide!
And on Thursdays, we're teddy bear doctors.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #4
So I'm sorry it wasn't me, all right? Dean, I'm sorry.
They do know we are brothers right?
That's why they're family!
Uriel's the funniest angel in the garrison. Ask anyone.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #1:
- Castiel: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. --Hello Castiel!
- Castiel: You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in. --Still hot angel talk
- Dean: Sam loves research. He does. He keeps it under his mattress, right next to his KY. It's a sickness, it is. --Either way on this one.
- Chuck: Well there is only one explanation. Obviously I'm a God. A cruel, cruel capricious god. --Meh on both choices.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #2/4:
- Dean: On November 2nd 1983, don't get out of bed. No matter what you hear, or what you see. Promise me you won't get out of bed.--And he would try again if given the chance. *sniff*
- Bobby: (defensively) I had a weekend off. --Ha Bobby
- Dean: Y'know, I finally get why you and Dad butted heads so much. You two are practically the same person. I mean, I worshiped the guy, I dressed like him, I acted like him. I listened to the same music. But you are more like him than I will ever be. And I see that now.
Sam: I'll take that as a compliment.
Dean: You take it any way you want. --You are so dead on right here Dean.
- Young Mary Winchester: I want a family. I wanna be safe. You know the worst thing I can think of, the very worst thing, is for my children to be raised into this like I was.--Oh Mary. I hope you have a normal family in your Heaven. The other line is some of the funniest that Jensen has done, but Amy Gumenick's earnestness about this line broke me. It tells so much of Mary's character.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #3/4:
- Alastair: (coughing) Something caught in my throat. (pause) I think it's my throat. --Coin toss
- Dean: Hey, I wanted to tell you, you know for what it's worth. Um...it doesn't matter what your Dad thinks, I like that John kid. --I like the porn line, but here Dean is a little boy that is still protecting his parents.
- Dean: Angel or not, I will stab you in the face. --I really don't like the re-hymenated line. Really.
- Dean: How does He live with Himself? You know, why doesn't He help? --Yikes Dean. Yeah.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #4/4:
- Sam: Dude, where are you going? That was our hotel.
Dean: Sam, I'm not going to make a left hand turn into on coming traffic. I'm not suicidal. Did I just say that? That's kind of weird. --Delivery
- Dean: There's Sam Girls and Dean Girls and...What's a slash fan?
Sam: As in Sam slash Dean together.
Dean: Like together, together? They do know we are brothers right? --addressing slash gets a vote
- Bobby: You stupid, stupid son of a bitch! Well, boo hoo! I am so sorry your feelings are hurt, princess! Are you under the impression that family's supposed to make you feel good, make you an apple pie, maybe? They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family! --I'm not a fan of OTT Bobby, but the other line was throw away.
- Castiel: Uriel's the funniest angel in the garrison. Ask anyone. --Robert Wisdom's performance made this even funnier.
You know, when they write about the blond with hazel eyes, I'm all "Bzuh?" Because he's a brunet with green eyes. I get that he used to be blond, but he's not now. And I get that hazel means greenish brown, but those are Sam's eyes, not Dean's. Dean's are green green. Yet, I caution, not emerald. Because, weird.
Eh, his hair is still in the dark blond/light brown range enough that I'd lean towards calling him dark blond. Certainly, buying the color in the beauty supply store, it would be labelled blond. (The closest off the rack color I can remember would be the defunct Nice n Easy shade Natural Blonde Brown.) It's light enough that when they actually use full saturation, it doesn't register as brunette to me.
Note, however, that my color definitions are strongly affected by the years I spent fucking around with chemical dyes.
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #1/4:
Castiel: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. (I remember the chills and the "are they really going there?" from the first watch)
Castiel: You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in. (The first indications that the angels were really not going to be playing nice in this 'verse)
Dean: Sam loves research. He does. He keeps it under his mattress, right next to his KY. It's a sickness, it is. (I love it when the brothers rag on each other)
Chuck: Well there is only one explanation. Obviously I'm a God. A cruel, cruel capricious god. (Hilarious in retrospect)
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #2/4:
Dean: On November 2nd 1983, don't get out of bed. No matter what you hear, or what you see. Promise me you won't get out of bed. (This was a hard choice, because the other one was a hilarious moment. This one broke me, though)
Bobby: Solid iron. Completely coated in salt. One hundred percent ghost-proof. (Classic Bobby)
Dean: You take it any way you want. (The disillusionment is really setting in)
Young Mary Winchester: I want a family. I wanna be safe. You know the worst thing I can think of, the very worst thing, is for my children to be raised into this like I was. (Another hard choice, especially as Dean's rant juxtaposes perfectly against this, but in the end, this moment was a big ol' gut punch)
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #3/4:
Dean: You can take your peace, and shove it up your lily-white ass. 'Cause I'll take the pain, and the guilt, I'll even take Sam as is. It's a lot better than bein' some Stepford Bitch in paradise!
Sam: Dude, you're confusing reality with porn again. (Another perfect brother moment)
Dean: Angel or not, I will stab you in the face.
Dean: How does He live with Himself? You know, why doesn't He help? (A question that is still left unanswered at the end of S5, IMO)
Season 4, Round 1, Bracket #4/4:
Sam: So I'm sorry it wasn't me, all right? Dean, I'm sorry.
Dean: I'm sitting in a Laundromat, reading about myself... sitting in a Laundromat reading about myself. My head hurts.
Bobby: They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family!
Castiel: Uriel's the funniest angel in the garrison. Ask anyone.
Dean's are green green. Yet, I caution, not emerald. Because, weird.
Eh, more peridot I think. I suspect jewelry references would probably make the referenced eyes roll.
Sam: Dean, you're not reading more of that fanfic, are you?
Dean: Just the gen stuff.
Sam: We've talked about this.
Dean: They're debating my eye color. "Emerald," Sammy? "Peridot?" Fuckin' "sun-dappled spring leaves"?
Sam: I'd go with "split pea soup" colored, myself.
Dean: . . .
Dean: . . .
Dean: See, this is why I sneak the fic.
Jensen and I have similarly colored hair. I was blond as a child and now I have light brown hair.
I am trapped reading a ridiculously long fic (I could have read Thursday's Child five times over by now, I think) by westernsocks. It's gen altverse apocafic, and the most fascinating thing is all the angels and the politics of heaven. Castiel's garrison plays a fairly big part, and it's kinda awesome in a Band of Brothers way. But, man, do I have to do a lot of skimming.
Jensen's hair varies in the light more than Jared's, but it's sometimes so damned dark. And even at its lightest, it seems medium brown to me.
