I wouldn't consider Hugh Laurie blond at all.

Though I still describe myself as blond, while my hair gets darker and darker every year. I don't think anyone else would call me blond.

“Not dead yet!”

The "senior advisor" who said that Sarah Palin thought Africa was a country? A hoaxter: [link]

Saw that this morning, Jesse-- and sad part is, the first thought that occurred to me was "Damn, what does it say about Sarah Palin that we were all willing to believe her capable of that level of ignorance?"

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

"Damn, what does it say about Sarah Palin that we were all willing to believe her capable of that level of ignorance?"

That we expected it given that George W. Bush thinks the same thing? [link] (audio at link)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, no level of ignorance surprises me anymore.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I don't think anyone else would call me blond.

I would! Your complexion fuels the illusion, in the same way that my sister Nora's colouring keeps making people think she's a redhead.

Good morning, all!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hey Hive Mind!

I'm in the process of filing a FMLA complaint against my former employers. My Department of Labor rep called me and said that they need to know how much the surgery would cost in order to determine damages.

So I call my doctor. Well, there is one price for cash and one for insurance. And if he did it independantly (and not with the group I was seeing him through so please don't tell them he said this) the cash price would be different again. And then there is the surgery center or the hospital blah blah blah.

Do we know of a list of such things by state maybe? Or averages? Or something?

This is fun whole other way in which health care is screwed up. Maybe the first step in reducing costs is figuring out what the living hell they are.
