Downtown Jacksonville smells like roasting coffee. But given that we have a Maxwell House plant downtown, this makes sense and there's a reason.
Yeah, that's why it's so funny -- I think we still don't know where it's coming from. Not like the old NECCO plant in Cambridge!

I am looking for a BPAL or another oil perfume that smells like maple syrup. Anyone able to help out?
Sometimes Halifax smells yeasty from a brewery, and sometimes it smells like burnt coffee. Which may also be from a brewery.
At least it's not a paper mill. That's nasty stuff. We always used to know when we were getting close to Pensacola because we'd smell the paper mill.

Heh. The first time I ever smelled pot smoke, I remarked that it smelled like burning alfalfa.

Huh. Years ago, Actuary was consistently #1. Then I heard it dropped to #2 because the supplies of actuaries went way up after it was rated the #1 job for so long.
btw, what do mathematicians do besides teach? When I was in high school, I considered being a mathematician, but I didn't want to teach, so....
