Also, does anyone know what is up with Livejournal and the layoffs?
Alfalfa processing (for some reason we had an alfalfa processing plant near me) always smelled like pot to me. Very weird.
Heh. The first time I ever smelled pot smoke, I remarked that it smelled like burning alfalfa.
The Best and Worst Jobs in America
1. Mathematician
2. Actuary
3. Statistician
...
I think I see a pattern there.
Huh. Years ago, Actuary was consistently #1. Then I heard it dropped to #2 because the supplies of actuaries went way up after it was rated the #1 job for so long.
btw, what do mathematicians do besides teach? When I was in high school, I considered being a mathematician, but I didn't want to teach, so....
We do research!

It's going to be on January 16th, the same day BSG comes back! A good TV day indeed.
The town with the most interesting smells, IMO, is Milwaukee, or at least it was back in the mid-'80s when I went to school there. If the wind came from the northeast, you got post-beer-blast from the Pabst brewery. If it came from the west, you got the horrific stench from the tanneries. If it was from the east, you got the lake and its vaguely fishy smell.
But, on a good day, you'd get it from the north, where the Ambrosia chocolate factory was. (Yes, the one that Jeffrey Dahlmer worked at, but we didn't know that at the time.) Yum, chocolate!
