This is what our dinner finally ended up being:
Roasted asparagus
Mashed cauliflower with garlic and cream (or for me with bleu cheese and brie)
Cabernet Pot Roast with whole peppercorns
Brioche with brie, saga bleu or pub cheese
Dessert was tiramisu, 3 chocolate mousse or mango mousse cake.

Netflix gave me Hidalgo today. Is is a good NYE option, or should I go with an old standby?
I liked Hidalgo! And IIRC, it won't make you end up crying in your sparkling wine, although there is violence, and Hidalgo gets injured at one point.

I'm feeling last minute virtuous having whipped up a homemade batch of soft scrub and getting my bathtub and kitchen sink to gleam. With cinnamon essential oil. YUM.
