msbelle, I have frequently had the same identical thought.
Interestingly, one of my brothers is now dating a woman who spent a number of years as a marriage counselor/divorce arbitrator, had one bad year where job stresses and personal woes combined to hammer her into an epic burnout, and took some time off to go back to community college and become a certified auto mechanic.
Did the guy go to the Press Conference with Blogo? I can't imagine anyone agreeing to share a podium with him or accept his appointment.

Yeah, there must be some satisfaction in working with physical things, where you know for sure (most of the time, anyway) if something is right or wrong....

Yeah, Blago asked me to be Senator, but I didn't want to appear on stage with him after the scandal broke. I said to him, "You should have accepted my offer when you had the chance." But no, my offer of $9.95, half a bottle of Turtle Wax and two live chickens wasn't good enough for him.

Well, not if you're my mechanic trying to figure out why my check engine light keeps going on. I decided to just live with it after two several hundred dollars each tries to fix it in a 2-week span and then it went on again a few days later.

Me too. I have been thinking about going back to school to become a baker or pastry chef.
Apparently, the Senate Dems are refusing to seat anyone appointed by Blago--
"It is truly regrettable that despite requests from all 50 Democratic Senators and public officials throughout Illinois, Gov. Blagojevich would take the imprudent step of appointing someone to the United States Senate who would serve under a shadow and be plagued by questions of impropriety. We say this without prejudice toward Roland Burris's ability, and we respect his years of public service. But this is not about Mr. Burris; it is about the integrity of a governor accused of attempting to sell this United States Senate seat. Under these circumstances, anyone appointed by Gov. Blagojevich cannot be an effective representative of the people of Illinois and, as we have said, will not be seated by the Democratic Caucus."

Me, too. I have been thinking about hairdressing school. Somehow when I was in school going into a trade was not something that was done, while in my mothers time, almost everyone went into a trade, and only a few went to college

Sue, have you seen this guy?

Now mind you, most pastry chefs are utterwhackjobs, but dang, this one's pretty.
