I'll connect! In a couple weeks! And then not get out for another year. Uhg. Not helping.
FTR, my brother sounded really positive about the work (if not workload) he'd do if he got the job out here and by god, I'd LOVE to have them an hour away. Overnights with the boys! Painting parties with my SIL (she likes decorating and has an eye and if I have a house...)! Even if it is a 60 hr week for him (uhg,) it could be good longterm for his family and I'd get more nephews.
In the world of DUH, I love the actual name of this spot on NPR: [link] which is not the Yin/Yang thing, but the uber obvious "Obama Popular with the People" as seen on the name of the page.

You should buy a house out here and live closer to us then your bro could get a job out here too!
HAH. Unfortunately neither of us could afford house or rent for what we do. One of the surprise selling points of NIH is they pay more than base postdoc. But compared to the COL in 'bama...my brother will be bleeding money, most likely.
No, everyone should move to my building. SO there.
Hmm... yeah. there is that pesky making enough money thing.
What do you wanna do while you are out, sara? I kinda want to go to SF to run in the far side run and see the new California Academy of Science. But that seems like too far to go for a run and it's on Sunday which is a bummer. If it were on Sat, it would be way more doable.

Obama's pretty stiff at the beginning (and obviously reading from cards the whole time), but he eventually relaxes and gets some good zingers in towards the end.
I'm lucky I guess, my grandfathers attestation papers are online. But that was WW I, not WW II. I'm amazed that he's on there, because I would have assumed that he would have enlisted for France (he tried and was too young) or in Newfoundland. But he enlisted in Montreal.
a poor substitute for Killer Shrimp, which has closed
I never made it there. I am sorry about that. But I'm sure your shrimp were nummy, because I like them shrimpy.
I'm realizing that I need to spend more time reconnecting with people because being connected makes me feel happier.
Word. I also like different people. Some hottie made small talk with me in the supermarket today and I remembered part of the reason I loved teaching krav so much--new people. Like people that don't stay (although this guy might not have been kicked out of bed for eating crackers, with his cute living alone groceries and all)--they refresh me in a different way from quality time with people I care about.
I think that the new people thing is not something I crave so much. I wonder if it's because I'm around students all day?
I should go to sleep as I am actually getting sleepy. Sleepy is nice. sleeping is nicer.
Hi folks!
Kat as far as Wild Animal Park vs WAP + Zoo goes, are your parents up for two big days in a row? That might get you your answer.
