Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Today I finished painting the hallway, did two loads of laundry, made supper (bacon wrapped scallops, king crab legs, and rice), made dessert (triple chocolate cake), put away the laundry, and tidied up the kitchen.

Then I had a glass of wine and paid the rent.

Where's my gold star?

Next weekend I get started on Sam edits and put in a new closet system, because I have now run out of storage space.

The Sam edit thing is weighing heavy on my mind. I want it done before the new year, but have no idea how to weave in a new plot.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Good luck with Sam -- and here, have a gold star. Actually, one for dinner and one for everything else you did today.

I probably should toss the rest of my lasagna from thursday, shouldn't I?

If I made it ( as in not from a restaurant)I say it is good for about a week. Restaurant dinner get no more than 24 hours -- they usually sit out too long.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Very, very long shot

Any chance someone from here knows anyone from that Neo-Victorianism conference?

Purely academic interest.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I had an anxiety dream about it last night, wherein I and D. and the pastor all had to do a little dance number.

If more Advent services were like that, I might go.

It's two hours before the taxi to the airport gets here. I keep moving little things around between my carryon and checked luggage. This time tomorrow I'll be in Senegal—yay!

Toast and coffee.

Any chance someone from here knows anyone from that Neo-Victorianism conference?

Sadly, no. But it looks really interesting—I wish I could go.

ETA: Thanks, Shir!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Bon voyage, Calli -- though I hope by now the taxi's come!

Today I find out if I can keep auditing the 3D class -- they've changed the formatting so it's split into two courses, though when I took it the first time it was a shorter single course that encompassed the same material, so I might be grandfathered in, or not, depending on bureaucratic whim. However, if I can't take it, I should get off my ass and work harder at finding a job, so I'm trying to convince myself that it's good whatever happens.

I'm also having the last slice of apple pie for breakfast.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Have a great trip, Calli!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Good luck, Theodosia.

Also,

I'm also having the last slice of apple pie for breakfast.

What is it with you, Buffistas, and making me want apple pie?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I should make apple pie. I should also go to sleep.
