"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But is she saying "please" when she demands the pie?

NSM.

She's watching Kiki's Delivery Service now and sinking into somnolence, though.

On our way to get Emmett this evening (through a fucktastic bumper-to-bumper in the rain traffic jam that took two hours) she kept inviting JZ (who was not in attendance) over: "Come on Mommy! Don't be shy. Come over. Take a BART."

Hubby and I are going to a buffet restaurant tomorrow. We have purchased a pumpkin pie of our own for later, and Hubby bought two cans of whipped cream. Me: "Do we really need two for one pie?" Him: "Obviously you don't remember the way I like my pumpkin pie." Me: "So this can of whipped cream is mine and that one's yours?" Him: "No, this can is mine and that one you can have access to."

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

We have accomplished 2.5 pies (the filling for the chocolate cream pie will be done in the morning). And two episodes of Friday Night Lights. Oh, Landry.

The status is NOT quo.

We're having our annual urban family gathering tomorrow, so I've been busily preparing all day. Last count is 12 adults and 2 kids. So far I've made two batches of cranberry relish, spiced sweet potatoes, a pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bread. Tomorrow I'll be making the turkey, vegetarian dressing, gravy, and roast parsnips with carrots. Guests are bringing dinner rolls, green bean casserole, drinks, and more desserts. Yum. Am tired now.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Just got back from seeing Spring Awakening. Very good show--and the nosebleed seats are only $20!

Tomorrow, clean like a mofo, then cooking, then family over. Friday, sadly, work.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Pumpkin pie and cranberry relish achieved. Turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans and from scratch rolls to achieved tomorrow. One guest to bring mashed potatoes, another salad, another apple pie homemade with apples grown on her own apple tree. Other guests to bring themselves.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My contribution to today's dinner may well be jellied cranberry sauce (the way God intended it) from Whole Foods.
