It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

I think I am making your cranberry dish. Not to take to T-day dinner but just to have about.

It is actually yummy for lots of different purposes. I really should have made another batch.

I'm scared I'm not going to be sent home with leftovers, which are (IMHO) the best part of Turk Day.

Feeling lazy. Making a pumpkin pie (really easy) except: don't have a store bought crust, don't feel like making a from scratch crust, don't feel like running to the store to pick up a crust. Do have graham cracker crumbs. How compatible is a graham cracker crust with pumpkin pie? Only ever done that with cheesecake.

I am making sides just for my place because I want my trashy non-fancy regular T-day food in addition to whatever leftovers we have.

Oh, I've known her since we were in short pants, so I don't think she'll be a serial killer, but I haven`t been in contact with her since like 1992, so it will potentially be just awkward. It might be great, you never know.

She's coming to town for a workshop, so she'll be busy during the day.

“Not dead yet!”

Just made the chocolate coma pie; it's currently chilling. Apple pie tomorrow.

Also just delivered a smackdown on an email loop. I probably should have refrained, but the metaphorical dick waving was getting ridic.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

everybody's traveling or cooking aren't they?

I am both travel- and cooking-free. Although I do have in-laws. They're cooking.

Wallybee has decided that they like me too much because they're more complimentary about my cooking than hers.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whoo. I was cooking. But I'm done for the nonce.

Achieved: 4 pies (2 pumpkin, 2 apple, three of which have a praline crust), whipped cream, do-ahead mashed potatoes (still need to be baked tomorrow), marinated holiday veggies (cherry tomatoes, brussels sprouts, asparagus, will add mushrooms tomorrow).

Tomorrow: turkey, stuffing, gravy, corn pudding, cranberries, grandma's sweet rolls

Failed: cranberry bread for breakfast tomorrow. The idea being that I'd bake tonight so I had something quick to eat in the morning before cooking all day. But it wasn't necessary, so it got lost. Depending on when our guests leave, I may still try for it.

But right now I'm chilling with the dog in the bedroom, trying to get him calmed down and me some introvert time while D. & guests are watching movies in the living room.

Pies are a big giant success.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Pies are a big giant success.

Send some to my house, stat. That's all I've heard from Matilda for the last three hours: "I want pie!"

I might've oversold the pie aspect of Thanksgiving.

“Not dead yet!”

But is she saying "please" when she demands the pie?
