I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I got spanked a couple of times. It was hardly the worst thing that happened to me.

I should have taken a bowie knife on my grocery store run. All three stores worth. When did currants become a rare, exotic item in US groceries?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

When did currants become a rare, exotic item in US groceries?

I blame raisins.

Our wings are not tired.

I never spanked the boys in a deliberate manner, but have smacked them in the sudden urgent they are about to do something catastrophic manner. DH disagreed completely with my gentle nature with them, but he respected my wishes. I still get blamed by him and a while lot of other people for their failings because I was way too lenient with them. My neighbor always is telling me (joking) that I should have beat them, and that it isn't too late. Y'all can be amused at the thought of me putting my 6'5" son across my knee to spank him.

All I could do as a parent was follow my best instincts. Can't do what is right for other people.

ION, I still have no plan for Thanksgiving. I need to do something about that.

I blame raisins.

The big, wrinkled bullies.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Now I have to google currants to see what they are.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The big wrinkled bullies are prunes!

The only thing worse than Ding-Dong ads in Harvey Milk stories would be Kool-Aid showing up in some of the recent Jonestown articles....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wasn't that actually Flavor Aid or something?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I blame raisins.

I blame craisins. Which are not nearly as yummy as currants. And I say that as a pro-cranberry person.

Jesse -- yep, it was actually Flavor-Aid, but everybody thinks it was Kool-Aid anyway and I'm not even sure if F-A is still in business....

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I would think the connotations might have forced them to change the brand name, if nothing else.
