Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Though with sciatica, it's my understanding, that the more you use move and use it the better it is for alleviating pain. Dunno if that's true or not.

I can say with this that I feel a lot better standing and walking that sitting or laying down.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The cat only did that because you already felt bad.

Sophia, I dunno. I think the standard medical advice is to ice first, but that assumes it's a strain. I don't know if that's what you have, but I am guessing that ice doesn't actually hurt, so you could start there?

I got some stuff done this morning and now I'm lazing around. I really need to mop the kitchen floor and go buy alcohol at BevMo. Hmm.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was also told that not taking care of a childs medical needs isn't abuse, either.

The fuck?? Or if it's a matter of semantics, surely ignoring a child's medical needs counts as neglect or reckless endangerment, or something that would warrant authorities getting involved?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah, people.

I just had a positive experience at a department store makeup counter! I was scared and ready to talk the salewoman down, especially because I opened with, "I would like to be sold some makeup." But no! She sold me something that seems in between foundation and tinted moisturizer, and some blush (maybe unnecessary? we'll see), and that was all she was going to do. I said I needed some lipstick, too, and she came out with the perfect color. Sweet. I was really ready for her to tell me I needed 50 products.
