To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

I'd love to go! Let me know the time--as long as it isn't this Friday or Saturday, I can be there.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Hey Bay Area Buffistas! Gary and I will be in San Francisco next month.

To be more specific, we'll be in town August 14-16. (Also possibly available August 22 for dinner. It depends on when we get in to town.) We'd love to see you!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Question for DC-istas: We will be doing a lot of Metrorail travel while we are in DC. Is it worth the $47 to buy the 7 day pass or would it be cheaper to just pay as we go? We're staying in Rockville. The hotel has a shuttle to the nearest station and we will be using the Metro to get everywhere.

information libertarian

How many days will you be there? Rockville to the center of DC is $5 one-way, so each day's commute would be $10 if you only went to one place. If your trip is more then 3 days I would buy the pass.

(You can check Metro fares at their web site. Man they have gone up since I lived there!)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

We get in Saturday night and we leave Thursday, so we'll be using the pass for at least 4 days.

I think the pass is only good during certain hours, though--double-check, I remember the day pass was only good certain hours not sure about the weekly. Basically "Not during rush hour" which...doesn't leave you a lot of time, unless you're sleeping in and either coming back quick or staying til after dinner.
