Not javachik

I recommend Bonk.

At the risk of being pesky or whiny, I need to share a room for financial reasons, especially since I'm now leaning towards wanting to stay 2 nights. Anyone?

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

O_a, in theory, yes. I asked for Thur-Sun off....right now i have sat, sun, mon off so i was officially approved only for thurs and fri off. They won't approve "vacation time" for days i am not currently scheduled to work.

If/when i get moved to a shift that works sat and sunday (99.999% probability) i *then* have to request those two days off....and by then they might be taken by other and not available (only a certain number of ppl are allowed vacation each day...to make sure we still have minimum staffing without calling people in on OT). It's really messed up for my planning purposes but makes sense for scheduling.

Right now, no one has any word on when shift changing will happen....fingers crossed here.

Plei, i will gladly accept any help with car stashing :) Can even bring gifties from down south if there's anything portland-centric you'd like. Hahaha, like it's a foreign country or something ;P

I'm also totally fine with on street parking if there *is* any nearby....

On street parking isn't going to happen. It's downtown so all the parking spots are metered and have a max of 2 hours.

The hotel parking is probably the best option.

Any peeps flying in at the same time might want to think about sharing a car or cab.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

aw meara- I wish I'd seen your message earlier. It's probably too late to make dinner and be back to the airport by 8.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Seattlistas, what do you think of this as an airport-to-hotel transport option? One of the stops is the Fairmont Olympic, which looks to be only a couple of blocks from the Hotel Monaco.

Yes, I think that's what I was meaning when I said there was a shuttle-y thing that went to downtown hotels! :) Thanks dcp!

They have a counter alllllll the way down at the end of the baggage claim, but it's pretty obvious once you walk all the way down there.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Hotel update: We are at 33 room nights - they extended the block to be Thursday-Saturday. The deadline for reserving within the guaranteed block is May 26, which is not the deadline for the 40-room minimum.

Has anyone who is planning to come not made their reservation??

Funds update: we are at $1100. They will be charging my card on June 15 for the estimated total, and then will charge any remainder after the event. That being the case, I would really love to have all of the funds by June 15.

Thanks to everyone who has sent in and made their reservations!!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

juliana, I've done a bit of eBaying and will send you my chunk as soon as I've done a bit more (and if anyone knows anyone who likes vintage bathing suits and would like to bid on a '40s suit in near-perfect condition, let me know and I'll post a link when it's up).
