I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Mentioned in Natter my biggest issue is all my clothes seem to be sleeveless and short.

With a friend's advice I bought a puffer jacket in Seattle because I froze in the "summer"/"spring" weather you're having here. This jacket and my friends are the MVPs of this trip.

And I'm in one of the places on Lombard, let me know if anyone would like to have dinner tomorrow. I'm also free on Fri.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

One pair of shoes in addition to the sandals on my feet, which is one more than I would usually pack!

I’m wearing the same shoes all weekend. Nothing is going to stop me from only taking a carry-on.

Our wings are not tired.

I'd love to get together tomorrow, Shir. I'll touch base in the morning because I am still adjusting to the time difference tonight. Trying to stay awake until a reasonable hour tonight, like I did last night, and should be all in sync by tomorrow.

Yay, Laura! And best of luck with the time difference. My phone number is in my profile.

Our wings are not tired.

I think I’m staying at the Hyatt at the airport because I’ve got very sick friends and now family I need to also see this weekend, so my planned carless quick trip to the Bay has turned into a must have a car to drive out to Tracy and down to Palo Alto and then to Oakland and back to the airport. All on Sunday. But I’ve reserved Saturday for y’all.*

  • unless my uncle Al, who decided yesterday to stop his dialysis and is now in hospice, worsens even more quickly than we expect, in which case I may need to drive to Tracy to see him Saturday night.

My bleak mantra these days has been that I’ve now entered the time of life where instead of Four Weddings and a Funeral, it’s….yeah you get the picture.

Yikes, javachik, that's a lot. I hope things are smoother than anticipated.

Oof, javachik, that is indeed a lot. A lot of ~ma, and looking forward to seeing you this Saturday.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Glad we’ll get to see you. This is definitely feeling like a less fun new phase of life.

Pencil me in for dinner tomorrow Shir and Laura. I should hit the hotel midafternoon.

Getting ready to walk to Cable Car Coffee for breakfast. Coffee in hotel room was very tasty, and I even figured out how to use the machine first try! Very nice room. Slept so well. The Line gets an excellent review so far.

Other than coordinating dinner tonight with Shir, anything on people's to do list? Baseball? Any ideas? We are in pretty chill mode, but open to anything.

Also, I should mention that someone (Vortex) has a birthday tomorrow. Not sure if she has plans yet.

Boarding my flight! I do not have nine pairs of shoes (I think. Don’t hold me to that). But Steph did save me from a critical boot shortage.
