I think I’m staying at the Hyatt at the airport because I’ve got very sick friends and now family I need to also see this weekend, so my planned carless quick trip to the Bay has turned into a must have a car to drive out to Tracy and down to Palo Alto and then to Oakland and back to the airport. All on Sunday. But I’ve reserved Saturday for y’all.*
- unless my uncle Al, who decided yesterday to stop his dialysis and is now in hospice, worsens even more quickly than we expect, in which case I may need to drive to Tracy to see him Saturday night.
My bleak mantra these days has been that I’ve now entered the time of life where instead of Four Weddings and a Funeral, it’s….yeah you get the picture.
Yikes, javachik, that's a lot. I hope things are smoother than anticipated.
Oof, javachik, that is indeed a lot. A lot of ~ma, and looking forward to seeing you this Saturday.
Glad we’ll get to see you. This is definitely feeling like a less fun new phase of life.
Pencil me in for dinner tomorrow Shir and Laura. I should hit the hotel midafternoon.
Getting ready to walk to Cable Car Coffee for breakfast. Coffee in hotel room was very tasty, and I even figured out how to use the machine first try! Very nice room. Slept so well. The Line gets an excellent review so far.
Other than coordinating dinner tonight with Shir, anything on people's to do list? Baseball? Any ideas? We are in pretty chill mode, but open to anything.
Also, I should mention that someone (Vortex) has a birthday tomorrow. Not sure if she has plans yet.
Boarding my flight! I do not have nine pairs of shoes (I think. Don’t hold me to that). But Steph did save me from a critical boot shortage.
If you can’t tell, I have fully converted to checked bags for direct, non-business travel.
My flight gets in tomorrow early afternoon, so count me in for dinner and/or rooftop bar shenanigans. (Although I will probably nap as soon as I get to the hotel, because I have to drag myself out of bed at the stupid-early [for me] hour of 6 a.m.)
But Steph did save me from a critical boot shortage.
Picture my cape flapping in the wind as I look down from my perch for other imminent travelers who need packing guidance.
My big question is: do I want to wear the same dress all day Saturday? And I feel like the answer is yes (it's a pretty dress and it's stupid comfortable without being a t-shirt dress that might also be a nightshirt). I dunno. I guess I'll try on Potential Memorial Dress one more time to see if I really want to pack it.
The biggest question is: I have a pedicure today, and I can't decide what color. I think burgundy. Or silver. Maybe teal.
