Ahahahaha! It's more anti-FQ, really, than anti-rest of downtown.
It's all about the logistics of navigating the city and the fact that lots of residents (regardless of length of life here) think the FQ is not a fun place to hang out, so it becomes a natural barrier.

Oh, sure. Though I do miss O'Flaherty's pub, which was on Toulouse near Decatur, and was an awesome place to hear live Irish music.
Gary and I went to O'Flaherty's to see Beth Patterson one time we were in New Orleans.
Yep, that's where I saw her the first time.
O'Flaherty's isn't there anymore? Although my pub was the Kerry.
No, Katrina killed off O'Flaherty's, though I think they'd had some challenges before that.
Aw, sad. I probably knew that at some point.
Yeah I get that. I stayed at Elysian randomly when I had a business trip and there was some big convention in town so the Marriott was booked. The hosts were amazing and the price was right, so it has been my go-to in NOLA ever since. I recognize that there are other options near our peeps, but EFI is great.
We are now booked at Prytania Park for arrival Thursday and departure Sunday. I didn't make any airline reservations because I don't know if Brendon will be in NY or FL at that time. But we will be in NOLA for the weekend via some direction.
If I were to take a trip the last weekend in October, what would be some pros/cons of NYC, New Orleans, or Maine?
