I have been y'allin since college in eastern Tennessee. It just isn't restrained anymore. I also say howdy, mostly to fuck with people and to let them know I speak not just English, but colloquial English, but I may need to rein that in so people don't think I'm mocking.

I had to re-learn the southern I worked so hard to shed for drama school, but although I still eschew CEE-ment and IN-shurnce, I've reclaimed y'all, sugar, and bless your heart. Sugar's a good check-rein on somebody about to escalate a situation, if you use it in the right tone of voice.
