Seeing the signs on the Lamp posts in the picture made me misty.
Huh. I didn't read the whole article - Mayor Daily has been a big supporter of Obama, right? So maybe it's payback time for Chicago, huh?

It's still possible that Obama could pick on one electoral vote from Nebraska, since it allocates Electors by Congressional district.
If the alarm doesn't go off, I do not wake up.
If I turn off the alarm by accident the night before, the alarm does not go off.
I woke ridiculously late this morning.
At least I got plenty of sleep?

I'm guessing bigtime.
Speaking of, Rahm Emmanuel is an unexpected pick here (to me). Very tied in to DNC power structures, and a foe of the 50-state strategy that got us here. But also seems to be something of a hatchet man and an enforcer. Man picked himself a wartime consigliere. Fascinating.
(Also: the people who were flipping out because OMG Hussein he must be a Muslim terrorist unamercian woe!!1! must be seriously fucking losing it when his first named picked is this guy. Not that I know or care what Rahm's religious background might or might not be, myself, but then, I'm not a whacked-out nut job.)
And I wonder who's getting Obama's seat?

Obama's seat and Biden's seat. Biden's committee involvement also. I thought I would be all politiced out, but apparently not.
I refrained from posting a nasty gram to the adoption board.
I just looked at my county results.
It broke 60/40 in favor of McCain/Palin. But I got my choice on that one overall.
It broke 52/46 for Jay Nixon the democrat running for governor. His opponent was a bit of a lightweight. 2 for 2 so far.
54/43 for the Republican Lt. governor. 2-1 for me.
54/43 for the Democratic S.O.S. She's a Carnahan, so no surprise there. Blew away her opponent statewide. 3 and 1.
50/50 for the Democratic Attorney General Koster and he took the state so 4 and 1.
57/43 in U.S. rep race for Republican Turk over Democrat Cleaver, but Cleaver won 65/35 in the entire district. 5 and 1.
State treasurer went to the Republican in the county, Democrat in the state. 6 and 1, though this wasn't one I cared about. I lost both state senator and state rep so 6 and 3. I won some of the other local offices, I voted Republican some there. So 8 and 4.
Admendment #1 which made English the only language to be used in state communications I lost. It when 93/7 for in my county. Now you can't even have state Internet websites or forums in any language other than English. Boo.
I lost on a couple other propositions as well. Oh well.
Not a bad election for me.

I checked each county or equivalent I've lived in. Biggest surprise -- the county where I grew up, which I remember as a Republican stronghold (except for the black community in the second largest town), went for Obama 64% to 35%.
