I can't say I particularly noticed Michelle Obama's dress last night. But generally she seems to have a Jackie Kennedy vibe about her. An elegance that seems all the more elegant because it's natural and unforced.
I want to be excited about Obama. I really do. But I remember getting excited about Clinton in 1992 and how disappointing that turned out to be. As well as (though I was too young to vote then) Carter in 1976. So I'll wait and see what Obama actually does before getting excited.
It just seems odd to me that you can amend the constitution with a simple majority.
I know! It makes no sense.
CNN is still saying MO is too close to call, but leaning to McCain.
I predict: MO to McCain, NC to Obama.
I know! It makes no sense.
Yeah. What if this issue remains contentious for a decade or so? What if folks in CA keep having new propositions, sometimes allowing gay marriage, sometimes disallowing it?
Stuff like this is why (in general) people make constitutions hard to amend!
My Dad is turning 60 tomorrow. I already sent him a present, but does anyone know of a good source for free non-annoying e-cards?
Now I just want people to stop comparing Obama to JFK. That did not end well!
Yeah, no kidding. Actually, when Obama started the sentence "We may not get there" I think I sucked in a hard, fast breath "...in one year or even in one term."
Man.
Of course the ONE DAY I REALLY FUCKING WANT A NEWSPAPER, it only got delivered as I was leaving the house.
I may have to save it for a little bit.

Don't stop thinking about tomorrow! It'll be better than before! Yesterday's gone!
....oh, wait.
Things I'm happy about looking at the county maps:
All NH counties went blue.
Major Texas cities remain blue.
Upstate NY has a significant number of blue counties.
While the Eastern Shore is still firmly red, my old county in MD (one of the last in the US to give up segregation) was split 49%-49%.
I'm so glad Obama won Indiana. My friend Miriam tried a few times to get me to come with her and canvas in Gary and other places, but I didn't go. When I saw how close Indiana was, I started to wish I'd gone.
You know that friend in college who you like, but you know should never be in charge of anything important? Looks like he just won a seat in the SC Senate.
