Yeah, no kidding. Actually, when Obama started the sentence "We may not get there" I think I sucked in a hard, fast breath "...in one year or even in one term."

Of course the ONE DAY I REALLY FUCKING WANT A NEWSPAPER, it only got delivered as I was leaving the house.
I may have to save it for a little bit.
But I remember getting excited about Clinton in 1992 and how disappointing that turned out to be. As well as (though I was too young to vote then) Carter in 1976. So I'll wait and see what Obama actually does before getting excited.

Things I'm happy about looking at the county maps:
All NH counties went blue.
Major Texas cities remain blue.
Upstate NY has a significant number of blue counties.
While the Eastern Shore is still firmly red, my old county in MD (one of the last in the US to give up segregation) was split 49%-49%.
I'm so glad Obama won Indiana. My friend Miriam tried a few times to get me to come with her and canvas in Gary and other places, but I didn't go. When I saw how close Indiana was, I started to wish I'd gone.
You know that friend in college who you like, but you know should never be in charge of anything important? Looks like he just won a seat in the SC Senate.

I can happily claim to be born a Hoosier again. Indiana going Democrat gave me a big happy.
AMEN, Cashmere, AMEN. I'm still so disappointed about Prop 8, but I'm trying to hold on to some happy things!
Also now I'm really sad I didn't go party down on Broadway in the streets! People had sparklers?? That's so cool!
