But I remember getting excited about Clinton in 1992 and how disappointing that turned out to be. As well as (though I was too young to vote then) Carter in 1976. So I'll wait and see what Obama actually does before getting excited.
Don't stop thinking about tomorrow! It'll be better than before! Yesterday's gone!
....oh, wait.
Things I'm happy about looking at the county maps:
All NH counties went blue.
Major Texas cities remain blue.
Upstate NY has a significant number of blue counties.
While the Eastern Shore is still firmly red, my old county in MD (one of the last in the US to give up segregation) was split 49%-49%.
I'm so glad Obama won Indiana. My friend Miriam tried a few times to get me to come with her and canvas in Gary and other places, but I didn't go. When I saw how close Indiana was, I started to wish I'd gone.
You know that friend in college who you like, but you know should never be in charge of anything important? Looks like he just won a seat in the SC Senate.
A little x-post with Bitches. Here's photos of the spontaneous parties in Seattle's streets from last night. They're in a friend's unlocked LJ post - [link]
Still sick about Prop 8, but the DailyKos article is definitely giving me hope.
Jessica, re a Dylan hoodie, I did find this customizable toddler hoodie site if you want to make your own.
I can happily claim to be born a Hoosier again. Indiana going Democrat gave me a big happy.
AMEN, Cashmere, AMEN. I'm still so disappointed about Prop 8, but I'm trying to hold on to some happy things!
Also now I'm really sad I didn't go party down on Broadway in the streets! People had sparklers?? That's so cool!
Morning, guys. Pretty good morning, huh?
Now I just want people to stop comparing Obama to JFK. That did not end well!
One of the pundits on CNN last night said to Anderson Cooper how Obama's acceptance speech significantly borrowed from Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech made on the eve of his assassination, and I swear, my heart just plummeted down to my boots. (I was all, "aaarrrghhh, she said the "A" word! Undo it, undo it!)
