VT goes to Obama. Are we shocked, or are we very shocked?
I'm not shocked, but curiious. They're showing this result with, do I have this right, no precincts counted? I mean yeah, you pretty much could've called it a month ago, but on what are they basing it? Exit polls?
CNN says exit polls. The Times isn't calling anyone yet, and I am in love with their zoom-in-by-county map.
CBS appears to be calling West Virginia for McCain. No big surprise there, though again without hard numbers to support it.
They're being much more conservative this year about relying on exit polls, but in somewhere like VT, the exit polls won't even be close, so why not go with them?
Oh, Chris Matthews, shut the hell up.
The Times isn't calling anyone yet, and I am in love with their zoom-in-by-county map.
That's nifty. I've added another website to my election watch.
NYT also has a nice pop-up that shows who is calling what for whom. They are virtuously not calling anything; everybody else is.
NBC called South Carolina for McCain, but CNN has Obama ahead there. I have no idea how the networks make these calls.
Best headline so far: "Help me, Wolf Blitzer, You're My Only Hope" (re: CNN hologram).
