It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

The reception was great-- it was smaller than we expected but people seemed to like it -- we focused on food and everyone was fed massive amounts of good food and excellent wines. Plus the location was spectacular -- a reproduction Italian villa with a patio overlooking the desert and the mountains, where we had cocktails at sunset.

It looks gorgeous bon. Those Calla Lillies are my favorite. And your look was perfectly lovely. The cake was beautiful too. Was it as yummy as it looked?

Bon, those are lovely, and I love that you worked the southwest & sunset in there too;)

Loki started in at quarter to 5 EDT. After a while, I gave up and moved to sleep in the livingroom. He'd better not do that tomorrow!

I think I ate too much this weekend.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm going to need more pictures, bon.

I'm cooking one of my favorite childhood comfort foods now. Something my mom used to make all the time but I've never bothered to make it until now. Wonder why I waited so long, it's simple and it smells so good.

It's just potatoes and green beans and large chunks of ham cooked together. Just cover it with water, and throw in some seasoning and it's so hearty, and simple and homey.

I put in some onions, pepper, cayenne, bay leaf and fresh rosemary.

The cake was excellent-- spice cake with cream cheese filling, IIRC-- we are still eating it out of our fridge. We also had cheesecake and tiramisu and the special desert -- photographed in the blog post-- strawberry gelato with balsamic vinegar drizzled on, with passed glasses of limoncello and some other liqueur that escapes me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My grandmother totally used to make that -- except with sausage, maybe?

I'm sure it works with sausage, or any other heavily salted/seasoned meat. Well, maybe not lox, but the principle applies.

Oh my. I'm literally drooling over those desserts. How wonderful.

AND, now I'm going to have to go hit the market for some turkey ham. Curse you people and your effect on my suggestibility.
