Willow: Were there dolphins? Tara: Yes. Many dolphins at the pound. Willow: Was there a camel? Tara: There was the front of a camel. A half-camel.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My view of LA definitely comes from Sunset Boulevard. And, to a lesser extent, Rebel Without a Cause.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I watched a lot of cop shows in the '70s. So I guess NY and LA got covered. And I loved Emergency and liked CHiPs.

Happy Days taught me very little about Milwaukee. (Or was that in a suburb of Milwaukee?) Neither did Lavern and Shirley, but I was annoyed when they moved to LA.

And my impressions of Fantasy Island were largely informed by the TV show of the same name.

Oh, and Hawaii Five-O for Hawaii.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

That's the danger of not being subbed to every thread. I'm invariably behind somewhere.

You're a bad board citizen!

The status is NOT quo.

New York- Huh. I grew up just a couple of hours away, so I'm not sure if my first images of NYC came from a movie or television show. I think the first book I read that featured NYC was A Cricket in Times Square, though.

Paris- Aristocats, American in Paris, Gigi

London- Mary Poppins, Peter Pan (Disney cartoon version), Bedknobs and Broomsticks, A Little Princess (the Shirley Temple version)

LA- Singing in the Rain, LA Story

Rome- The Italian Job, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Much Ado About Nothing, The Wings of the Dove

Berlin- Cabaret, The Bourne Supremacy

Tokyo- Lost in Translation, without a doubt, and Godzilla

Australia- Crocodile Dundee (sorry, billytea!)
