Oh, look: there's a bunch of plugged extension cords hanging outside of my window. On a day which gonna have a lot of rain.

Someone didn't pass his/her life logic 1x01 class, I'm afraid (though I have to admit I'm failing this one myself from time to time. But not with electricity, God dammit!).

Edit: it started raining. Great. I closed the window and I'm hoping someone will fix this. Soon. Also, I took a picture for fail blog.

Canada has a new minority government. Which is very similar to the one we had before the election.

Voter turnout is estimated to be 60%, which is the lowest turnout ever. Canadian politicians seems to be particularly uninspiring right now. The only party leader who seemed to spark people was the leader of the Greens, and they didn't even win a seat.

"... there's a shortage of particularly inspiring politicians in the world. It would be a pity to send them all to Canada".

Scary part, on so many different levels? That I can think of movie quotes in relation with these days politics.

Canadian naitonal election results. I like that it's not enough to be the marijuana party, but they have to be the Radical marijuana party.

Art Crawl!!!

Man, I thought today was tomorrow.

But it isn't.

Whew.

Also: last night, I went to the "community read" that my town did as part of the Big Read of To Kill a Mockingbird.

I was asked (okay - my local librarian - and leader of the mystery book club grabbed me on Saturday and drafted me) to read a page. Naturally, I was nervous because I hate that sort of thing but it was fun.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Was there an epidemic of babies being eaten by snakes in the early 1900s?

RARE Antique BETTERBABY Bed BABY CRIB Cage SNAKE PROOF

I'd have to look it up, but think this is just about the weirdest baby-related item I've ever seen, and it was made right here in Ohio a long, long time ago - 1914 - 1916. (We've always been rather resourceful here in Ohio as far as keeping snakes and bugs and wild hogs away from our babies.)

What it actually is, is a baby cage, but I'm sure that's not the way it was originally marketed.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Why does it show that Bloc Québécois got more seats, but a smaller popular vote than the NDP?
