My wife showed me the Biden thing last night. It was hilarious. My favorite bit was "That was a direct quote", "Holy shit", "Yep".
She sent me the David Letterman, top 10 things heard at Palin's Debate Camp.
10. "Let's practice your bewildered silence."
9. "Can you try saying 'yes' instead of 'you betcha'?"
8. "Hey, I can see Mexico from here!"
7. "Maybe we'll get lucky and there won't be any questions about Iraq, taxes or healthcare."
6. "We're screwed!"
5. "Can I just use that lipstick-pit bull thing again?"
4. "We have to wrap it up for the day -- McCain eats dinner at 4:30."
3. "Can we get Congress to bail us out of this debate?"
2. "John Edwards wants to know if you'd like some private tutoring in his van."
1. "Any way we can just get Tina Fey to do it?"
It scares me that I think Palin makes Dan Quayle look like a potential candidate for a MacArthur Award.
is anyone else bothered by the fact that there's been no discussion of the actual issues that might/should come up in tonight's debate... except by Katie Couric? I am increasingly troubled that the focus is all on form, not on substance.
That picture of you at 3 looks so much like both Leif and Emaryn it's amazing. They're just wee, adorable carbon copies of you!
An interesting blog post on how when you are doing something creative, what's important is how much you do, rather than obsessing over whether something is perfect. The clip of Ira Glass is, as ever, excellent. I wish I could get youtube at school because my students need to see this.

I don't see that as much with Emaryn, but I do see it with Leif. My wife thinks Emaryn really looks like my Mom.
Gwen Ifill is moderating, right? I have faith she'll ask good questions. The NYT has an editorial today with suggested questions.

ah good.
I spent too much time reading the Post's "How they'll win" piece.

I think the polls usually show that form is more influential than substance. It's hard to avoid talking about form when you have one candidate who is a gaffe machine and another who has had trouble forming coherent answers in interviews.
