is anyone else bothered by the fact that there's been no discussion of the actual issues that might/should come up in tonight's debate... except by Katie Couric? I am increasingly troubled that the focus is all on form, not on substance.

An interesting blog post on how when you are doing something creative, what's important is how much you do, rather than obsessing over whether something is perfect. The clip of Ira Glass is, as ever, excellent. I wish I could get youtube at school because my students need to see this.

I spent too much time reading the Post's "How they'll win" piece.

I think the polls usually show that form is more influential than substance. It's hard to avoid talking about form when you have one candidate who is a gaffe machine and another who has had trouble forming coherent answers in interviews.

You may but the right is already getting hysterical about the fact that she has a book in progress about the impact/historical significance of Obama's candidacy. The idea being that she has a conflict of interest since her book will be much more successful if he is.
