Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I dunno Alibelle, I'd like to think it means that he thinks a woman could be qualified to be president, but I suspect all it means is he thinks the job of VP is so meaningless even a woman could do it. Eh. I'm sure I'm being too cynical.

Maybe I'm cynical too, but I don't think he picked her because he thought she was qualified. I think he picked her because she represents many things that his party endorses, and he had to make a pick that competed with the novelty of Obama in order to stay competitive. The part that makes me happy is that the Dems have a very strong candidate, who happens to be very non-traditional, and the only way that the Republicans felt that they could compete with that is by going a similar route and putting a woman (and again, I don't endorse her politics at all, but she is, technically, a woman) on the ticket. I like that this election feels as though it's requiring diversity on the ballot. However misguided I feel some of the choices are, I still applaud the diversity.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Unemployed!

And leaking money...spent $75 at the ER to be told I should spend $350 on drugs not covered by my insurance company if I really wanted the pain to go away.

::sigh::

And I managed to almost knock one of my wing mirrors always off. As is, it's going to require taping to be drivable. I'm glad it drives well, because it certainly looks like a hooptie car.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Aw crap, ita, I'm sorry to hear that you're unemployed.

If it's even the eensy-weensiest bit of comfort, my sooper-seekrit project I told you about is still a go. I just have to clear a few projects first, including the illos Jilli needs.

I think I want to go back to bed.

Go back to bead. You have my permission. I put bean soup in the crockpot last night. It smells so very very yum!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

At least it wasn't a surprise, ita. A month or two of downtime isn't necessarily a bad thing given your health, but I can incredibly sympathize with the "bleeding money" part of the equation.

On the plus side, I applied for seven jobs yesterday... some of them, I'm even qualified for! This is important because I've been a little too intimidated to actually try that for the past month. Even though I've been drawing from my savings to live and all.

hip deep in pie

I firmly believe in needing a vacation after your vacation.

ita, are your parents still here?

The students are arriving in town this weekend. It's not safe to be out.
