I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

“Not dead yet!”

At my school the kids aren't supposed to sell candy at campus. It has something to do with the contract the food service has.

I'm sure this is the case across the board.

However, back in the Dark Ages AKA, the early 80s, we still had crap food in the cafeteria, had the freedom to go to Mario's Pizza or BK Lounge for lunch, provided we could do it in under 35 minutes (which, didn't work so well), so oftentimes a soda from the machine and a crisped rice generic chocolate bar rocked the house as a nutritious lunch alternative.

Good times.

That I wouldn't repeat again if you paid me.

ION, came back from family dinner with the Republican leaning relatives. Knowing that I sit way the fuck over on the lefty side of the fence, they tried to get my goat by asking if I wasn't pleased that a woman had been chosen as the Repugs VP candidate.

I calmly replied, "I think she'll play great down here, considering she's a good ol' boy wrapped in a dual-X chromosome."

I love leaving 'em speechless.

OK, math teachers? I just volunteered to teach/tutor neighbor T algebra. It's been 20+ years since I did that. She's 12ish. Any good beginner texts? She's had a rudimentary introduction, with them not calling it algebra and she's hinky on the concept.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

When I was a kid, I liked Algebra the Easy Way [link] though it's definitely not a traditional textbook. At CTY, we used this book [link] , which I liked a lot.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I actually am pleased that the Republicans picked a woman. Yeah, she doesn't represent anything I'm for, down to apparently being a moose burger connoisseur, but I'm cautiously pleased that both major parties are running "minorities." I think that we, as a country, should feel that people other than WASP men are electable possibilities.

Or, at least, black men and women (of all colors) should have every right to the opportunity to be as crappy at the job as Bush and Quayle. I want that to be standard. I mean, it's been how long since Ferraro ran? Our most diversified choice of President was...Kennedy? Because he was Catholic? I mean, seriously?

Then maybe we can get the people who actually are good at the job in position, once we have a much wider pool to pick from.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I dunno Alibelle, I'd like to think it means that he thinks a woman could be qualified to be president, but I suspect all it means is he thinks the job of VP is so meaningless even a woman could do it. Eh. I'm sure I'm being too cynical.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

But if he wanted a WOMAN, there are so many other, more experienced, choices out there. THIS is his first big "presidential" decision? Dude. She way mayor of a city smaller than the high school population in my old town. She is governor of a state whose population is smaller than SF.

I've read a bunch of the liberal reaction to his choice, but I have not gone digging to see what staunch Repubs are saying. Do THEY think this was a good choice?

I tend to stay away from politics, but I'm ready to volunteer for the Dems, something I have never done before.
