Punishingly Intricate
Even though it had cooled off a lot last night the dog made me turn the ac on. He would not stop panting and moving around restlessly. And when he gets off his bed (or his other bed, the chair) I have to turn the light on otherwise he gets lost in the room. oh elderly dog.
So I slept sporadically. am tired. On the plus side my friend who I had breakfast with on Sunday when she was very, very pregnant had her baby yesterday. A girl, Stella! So many babies this year in my life!!
Also, my middle room ceiling did not cave in like I thought it might in the heavy rain we had yesterday evening.

My favorite part? Being told that James the contractor was given the ticket Friday.
Friday night I had the opportunity to look through his sheaf of tickets when I found him in the parking lot.
There was not one for my unit.
Now, he could have lost it. Or they could have lost it. Or they could have forgotten to print it out. But in any case, it's just what I've come to expect.

May I say thank goodness for coffee? I know that Victor has warned me to prepare for coffee shortages, but right now I am hugging my coffee lovingly and enjoying it while it's here.

I was rereading a book and there's a scene where someone goes to make coffee while the person whose house it is takes a shower. She comes down to the kitchen and finds him horrified as he says "You drink freeze dried".
