Awww, you guys! Co-op ftw!
Congrats to the gaming duo Raq & Random!
Would I enjoy Conquer Club if I've only ever played Risk once in my entire life and it was 15 years ago and I don't remember any of the rules or how to play?Yes! It's a blast (except the Napoleon map. For whatever reason, it bugs me).

Gamemaster, roll away. Let's do the OR
May the Gods be with the dice!
BSG
Ok, die roll it is. We shall pause for interrupts (Strategic Planning). Boomer and the Adamas, please indicate whether you pass or play.
Many happy returns, Raq & Random!
BSG
no interrupts from me.
Aww shucks, hon, has it really been 18 years? Tempus fugit! (embarrassing display of elderly affection here, younger board members may wish to avert their eyes)
BSG
Boomer -- good shooting against long odds, but as you proved, not impossible ones.
Interesting call on the fuel crisis; that is the one thing I never want to touch because it is nearly impossible to replace and we have barely enough to make our required jumps. (It can only be replaced by a very lucky draw from the destination pile -- I think maybe one in 15 destination cards allows you to replace one fuel during the jump rather than burning it.) I don't have an interrupt to play, but here's hoping we get lucky on our roll!
I agree that we weren't likely to succeed against a 15, though, and since I am almost certainly on my way to the sickbay this turn because of the unlucky activation of raiders on two consecutive turns (they are going to attack me after this crisis and I will be able to avoid one or two, but not likely all three), so a failure on the crisis, then me being shot down, would have put two of the five of us in sickbay on the same turn, which would hurt -- as a team we would have draw eight fewer cards to get through the remaining crises of the second turn.
FYI, the loss of a raptor is a negligible concern. I suppose it could happen, but I've never seen a game where we used/lost all four.
BSG
(they are going to attack me after this crisis and I will be able to avoid one or two, but not likely all three)How do we get those RSV there to help you? When do they get moves? The Raiders get moves, shouldn't the RSV? Or do they just float in space like idiots until somebody burns a command card or something to tell them to move to a sector and engage. We've gone one complete cycle now, and those things are still just sitting targets in the same sectors.

That would be an affirmative. The cylon ships move according to card draws, and then according to flow chart of options. The RSVs move only if one of us actually goes to the CAG location (or whatever it's called, I'm at work) and burns an action controlling them. And even then they don't do it particularly well.
What they can do is slow the raiders down, because raiders must attack them before they can leave a sector, or attack any civilian ships in the same sector. That's why I had suggested Baltar move the civilian ships into sector five -- now if the raiders get past me, they will then have to take the extra step of shooting down the RSV BEFORE they can attack the civilian ships.
But to answer your first question, we've been beaten by card draw here -- they have gotten to move consecutively, so they got the jump on me. There is nothing we can do at this point to prevent that from happening. If I get lucky, they miss. If not, we lose a viper and I get 1 card on my next turn (instead of five).
