Sorry, guys, I didn't realize we would start so soon and I've been out of town. I just got home and I haven't had a chance to read through the files yet (also it's 102 (feels like 101 with the wind chill!) and my brain is not entirely functional) so I'll get that character chosen tomorrow morning.

Woohoo, starting off holding everything up, awesome!

I will jump on the opportunity to play a Daybreak character: Doc Cottle. Someone hand me my smokes.

Got to play a little bit of Odin's Ravens while I was on vacation. Just reading the rules was a little daunting, but actually playing was very fun. We played as teams because there were four of us, and I think it was actually helpful to be able to discuss strategy and all the different possibilities for each turn, though if we knew what we were doing a little more I suppose overhearing the strategic discussions would have been more of a problem. We only played two races because we didn't get started until fairly late in the evening - our raven won the first race but by fewer spaces than the other team won for outplaying us on the Magic Way, and then they pulled out the second race and tied us on the Magic Way on their last turn, so they beat us soundly.

Definitely would play again.

I have everyone's character and starting draw. I need to put together a couple of things, so the game will get underway this afternoon (my time).

Assembled members of the press and the peanut gallery, allow me to present to you the intrepid crew of the Battlestar Galactica! For this journey we have, with starting card draw:

A couple of notes about this game. We are playing with both the Ionian Nebula and Conflicted Loyalties. We have four players, which means:

1. There was only one Cylon card shuffled into the loyalty deck. The Cylon (whether they discover their true nature now or at Sleeper Phase) will play solo. Because at least one loyalty card always remains in the loyalty deck, there is even an outside chance that this game will wind up with no Cylons.

2. We are playing the official No Sympathiser variant. This means that Food, Morale and Population all start lower than usual. It also means that revealed Cylons draw one additional card each turn.

3. We have two new characters from the Daybreak expansion in play, Doc Cottle and Admiral Louis Hoshi. These characters are part of a sneak preview of the expansion. We have not yet seen the new orders of succession; I've made my own judgment calls on where they both fall in line for President and Admiral. (Currently, Cottle ranks second in line for President and third in line for Admiral; Hoshi ranks first in line for Admiral and third in line for President.)

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the game, please let me know.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Can you send details on the Allies?

All right, my lovely constituents, let's get this show on the road! And by on the road I mean let's get out of here because we're already under attack aaaaahhh.

I chill in my office and XO-2 Starbuck. Get out there and start shooting, girl!

Well, I can at least get out there, but I won't have enough fuel to burn to the Raiderss. But I can get a good head start.

BT, refresh my memory. When the Raiders activate, do they default to civvies, or to any fleet ships? Trying to decide which tube to shoot from, and which would get me in the action fastest.
