The toddler stories have totally cheered me up. We are at my brother's house, waiting for SIL to have her baby, and Ellie has not been on her best behavior (she bit Frisco because she was mad at me and a few other things). So nice to be reminded that it's not just us.

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm starting to really hate my body. First it decides to get the UGI blocked, which results in the lovely 4 day hospital visit. Then, as a result of follow up tests, we discover I have a few zones of excess acid, which requires 2 months of meds. Then today I learn they spotted a gall bladder stone. So more tests, and more than likely surgery. Uggg. When can I get the body upgrade package???
{{{omnis}}} I totally understand as I'm having the same feeling about my mouth. In the last 3 months, I've had 2 root canals and today's "surprise" surgery to prepare the teeth for crowns. NextI go and get the crowns put on. Tons of money, some pain, and a little embarrassing to boot. I do take care of my teeth, but they just suck and always have. What are you gonna do, right?
Oh Omnis, that sucks. Remember please that your non-blood family are here for you. Also, GC, so sorry about your lousy dental luck. Hugs.
The Dread Pirate Byron is stretched out on the bed with me, purring his head off.
{{{omnis}}} I'm so sorry.
Heal away Byron. Heal away. Wish we humans had a purring feature to help mend ourselves.
Kristin, I'm glad Byron is recovering so well.
Yay Byron!
OMG!!! In a perfect example of the universe giving Yin & Yang. My boss just offered me a ticket to Yankees @ Angels in August. Fireworks Friday to boot!!! Sweet!!
So my body sucks, but my friends rock. Guess I can't complain too much right? Could be worse.
Kristin, hope you don't mind that you and Byron were sort of stars of my assembly yesterday? We have a half hour Key Stage 1 (ie 5-7 yr olds) asssembly every Monday, and one of the 3 of us who teach that age range keep them busy during that time while the others get a wee break. I happened across a picture book called The 3-legged Cat by Margaret Mahy, whose teen books I loved as a teen, so I took that down and explained to the kids about you and Byron before reading the book. (In which Tom the 3 legged cat thinks wistfully of the pleasures of going off adventuring and prowling the world, and then as the result of a happy mixup, ends up adventuring and prowling the world whilst wrapped around the bald head of a roving adventurous type who has inadvertently left his moulting russian hat with Tom's short-sighted owner.)
