Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe GD's too technically advanced to have stairs?

No, I got nothing. Hated that episode.

Edgy US reboot of Primeval? Really? This is worth spending time and money on? I wonder if they'll make it make more sense.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

"Oh stop over thinking it."

Dear Writers/Producers And Other Syfy Head Honcho Types,

Your viewers are giant nerds. There is no such thing as overthinking. Srsly.

And really? Your show? It's about people who over think things.

It's about people who over think things.

That too. I'd buy Tess' characterization way more if she'd have been asking those questions alongside us, even if only to hang a lantern on the fact that they were being handwaved away.

(I'm no good at titles, but the Farscape ep where they got shrunk and it really bothered Sikozu that their brains still worked and they could still breathe regular sized air molecules? That was awesome. We need more of that from Tess.)

exactly. Ask the question, speculate, then get distracted and move on.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh well, at least the cast is mostly enjoyable in their interactions even if the science is headache-inducing. I gave up on Defying Gravity after two episodes because I couldn't believe these people could survive a bus trip across town together, nevermind 6 years in outer space.

I keep meaning to check that out, but keep forgetting.

I don't think watching would make it any more memorable.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Matt is dead on - and yet I continue watching. They are keeping me watching because I want to know WTF is up with Beta.

On DG, there is so little reality: there is no way highly trained astronauts would behave this way. They would have all worked out their personal relationships and issues before being put on this 6 year flight. There will be blood around year 1 if they keep behaving like this.

However, given that we did have astronaut diaper lady, I suppose anything is possible.

I could list off a bunch of things that I didn't let go on and you'd be shocked that they not only got all the way to shooting, but people fought to keep them in.

It's a strange strange world.... and yeah, we all have our most hated episodes...P brain was probably mine.

I like J Ray though. Liked acting with her... was constantly sympathetic to how much brutal tech dialogue she had to wade through but really appreciated the energy she brought.

And Loved Jordan this year. She really stepped it up.... but I always love Jordan.
