Saw tonight's BBCA airing of TORCHWOOD and basically all I have to say is good episode and poor Tosh.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I've never seen Woodward sober at a convention. The last time I saw him he ranted about Angel being crap, then fell over. He IS a lovely guy, though.
Oh, I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't a nice guy, or that he was a mean drunk. (He was apparently sober and very sweet the one time I met him.) But showing up at scheduled public appearances so sloshed that you can barely speak coherently is not a good sign. And his drastically changed appearance since 2004 says it isn't just a case of drinking to calm the nerves at the occasional con—when I first saw his Pegasus 3 photos I thought they were of J. J. Abrams having a really bad day. I find myself kinda hoping he has friends and family willing to stage an intervention.
Jon, is this the promo you were talking about earlier?
Sorry, I haven't read the thread in the last couple of days, to avoid the Torchwood 2.04 talk.
Anyhoo, that's not the exact promo, since that one seems to have aired before any of Torchwood S2 aired, and the one I saw aired immediately after 2.01, but it's similar enough and has the casting spoiler.

Yes. Also, yay Moby song that I know!
Poor Tosh.
The Smallville episode was good for the Ollie/Lois - except when she broke up with him for no good reason. (Other than that they aren't supposed to be together.)
Black Canary was a travesty.
Matt, in fairness I think the only way I could survive being a guest at a convention would be by getting blind drunk. In the UK he doesn't do panels so much - he gets several bottles of vodka and dishes it out to the audience whilst drinking it himself. Somehow he manages to drag that out for 2 hours, as his panel slot. It's still more entertaining than people trying to think of 2 hours of questions for him, though.
On Torchwood ep 4, what was Jack thinking about retconning a man with a bullet wound? How do you explain that?
I think retconning must be a more extensive process than we've been shown. They have to have the capacity to replace memories, as well as erase them. When Owen was kicked out of Torchwood, they were going to retcon all of his memories of working for Torchwood, and they obviously would have had to replace them with some kind of cover story.
I just read a story the other day where Ianto spent his time in Torchwood One working for the department in charge of devising the memories they implanted in people who were retconned.
Yeah, it would have to be more complex. At the very least the person in question would have to know what happened yesterday.
