Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Following ita's link in Movies, Screen Rant suggests there will be a Torchwood panel at Comic-Con on Sunday. Ostensibly, 'kid's day'...which is weird, except that the Dr. Who panel is that day as well.

I'm sure everyone already knew this but me.

Makes me want to be a fly on the wall (and therefore out of reach of the crushing and potentially irritated crowd) to hear about the future of the show, if any.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I don't think that Sarah Jane would be a good boss . She's a decent leader, but I'm not sure about boss. She's too much of a loner. She works well with children, but I don't think that she would work well with adults.

edited to make SJ a solitary person, not a car.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ostensibly, 'kid's day'

It's kids' day because there are a lot of kid-friendly panels specifically on that day.

Right. I get that part, but why they'd do the Torchwood panel amongst the kid's shows seems odd. But, as I say, I'm sure it was more a timing thing than a 'theme' thing.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

At least one of his team members turned evil, another used alien tech for rape, another used memory erasure to manipulate and preserve a relationship. (Well the one who turned evil did that too.) And it looks like at least half his was chosen on gut instinct.

I think, what I like about "Torchwood," -- and not having seen COE yet -- is that, excepting that Jack has an ostensible superpower, they're not superheroes. They're normal people with the proper skill sets and motivations needed to do the job, but I can buy into the show's premise: that doing the job will seriously fuck you up. I actually like that Jack understands this, and doesn't condemn his people for being human.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Watching last week's Warehouse 13 - 10 minutes in, Myka taking off her shoes, I was sure she was going to use one as a throwing star on bleedy guy.

I was sure she was going to use one as a throwing star on bleedy guy.

I thought the exact same thing.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I was sure she was going to use one as a throwing star on bleedy guy.

I didn't, but that would have been awesome. I really like Myka and Pete. I'm enjoying the show probably more than it deserves because of them.

What was up with that "Kodak moment" in the last one? Startling - we went abruptly from wacky science to magic.
