Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I was sure she was going to use one as a throwing star on bleedy guy.

I thought the exact same thing.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I was sure she was going to use one as a throwing star on bleedy guy.

I didn't, but that would have been awesome. I really like Myka and Pete. I'm enjoying the show probably more than it deserves because of them.

What was up with that "Kodak moment" in the last one? Startling - we went abruptly from wacky science to magic.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The magic camera didn't seem any wackier than the Lewis Carroll mirror.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, the Lewis Carroll mirror and the camera were at the same level of wacky to me.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Carroll mirror could be a piece of alien tech that's a kind of AI game. (Or left over from a Marx brothers movie....)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Houdini's wallet calling up ghosts and Lucretia Borgia's jeweled comb letting her spirit possess and mind-control people didn't trip anyone's objections to the supernatural before this?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I think, what I like about "Torchwood," -- and not having seen COE yet -- is that, excepting that Jack has an ostensible superpower, they're not superheroes. They're normal people with the proper skill sets and motivations needed to do the job, but I can buy into the show's premise: that doing the job will seriously fuck you up. I actually like that Jack understands this, and doesn't condemn his people for being human.

I don't disagree. I like the show. But I think Jack's superpowers qualify him more to be a team member than a team leader.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am not bothered by blurring the line between science and magic. Show started with an ancient bleeding rock controlling people (very "Do you like my mask?" now that I think about it)
