Torchwood:
Yeah. So. Screw that.
Willow ,'Conversations with Dead People'
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Eureka: I didn't like when they said Dr. Blake was involved in the wreck and then went to the accident scene. It reminded me of Roswell and Alex and then turned out to be nothing. They should have saved such a powerful psych out for something more significant.
Based on the flailing here and praise for it in highly unexpected quarters elsewhere, I spent the evening watching Torchwood. As someone who's never been able to sit through an episode before: hey, that was pretty good, mostly.
RTD did basically do Buffy S5 without the "they made her out of me" cheat. And I genuinely salute him for that. I can't judge the character stuff, because I've never been able to sit through an entire episode before. There are certainly bits I could carp about, starting with the score, but as far as doing "The Cold Equations" writ large, well done.
Did you watch all 5 days already?
Torchwood Day 5:
Jeez, that was hard to watch .
Can anybody else imagine the show actually continuing after this? Because it's one of the most effective wind-ups I've ever seen. They've blown up the hub, disappeared the pterodactyl, put Gwen in a state where she effectively can't continue, morally compromised Jack and, worst of all, KILLED IANTO and made him stay dead. Which, while it might have been the right creative decision, is still WRONG, much like using Steven was, in fact.
Disappointed in Mr. Dekker generally. Not especially evil, oh actually not dead either, just a walking plot device. Hmmm.
Everything else was brutal. Except PC Andy. Maybe PC Andy can join the team now. Then I might keep watching .
ita -- yup. Well, I was doing other things during some talky portions, so "watching" is probably stretching the term. I'm sure that viewing it as a one-off rather than as part of an ongoing series changes a lot of things; I had to pause a couple of times early on and go to Wikipedia to figure out who was who.
Torchwood: A friend of mine found the ending satisfying. I was surprised, given the reactions I've seen around here, and she said it reminded her of the ending to things like Blake's Seven, Sapphire & Steel, etc. Very old skool dark British sci-fi. I'm still not planning to watch.
Torchwood: What! Did they hate their own show? Did they hate Captain Jack? I'm pissed. They destroyed it. Part of my mind is constructing arguments where I don't feel the actions were consistent with everything we had seen in the show previously, but screw it. They made me not care anymore. This sucks.
Now to watch Eureka! Hopefully to drown my sorrows.
I really enjoyed Eureka. It is too bad that we only get Andy for an episode.
But seriously, isn't it possible that Fargo might keep him around some how?
I loved that Sarah was the one trying to get rid of the sheriff. (She voiced her dislike of him right away.)
Also, with an episode titled "Welcome Back, Carter" - I figured that he'd be sheriff again by the end of it.
But seriously, isn't it possible that Fargo might keep him around some how?
I kind of wondered if his "soul"-searching would end up with him deciding to do something else in Eureka.
