Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I loved that Rodney would choose Jon Stewart over Carrel and Colbert!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I loved that he got into the game enough to start suggesting his own candidates. Buh-bye, plausible deniability!

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

In the Declassified for this week's Torchwood (2.04), they say that they had actually intended for Rhys to stay dead in 1.13, but they liked Kai Owen so much that they decided to keep him around.

I can't decide whether I'm more impressed that they had the sense to not kill him or disappointed that they were planning to kill him in the first place.

All is well that ends in pizza.

And and i finally saw the first ep of Season 2 Torchwood.

It does look like Jack's year with the Doctor helped him drop some of the baggage.

Oh, and the whole "miss me?" thing was so S2x01 Buffy.

Our wings are not tired.

Finally saw Torchwood 2x4. Owen's snappy green apron and Gwen's pretty red shirt made for a bright opening. Loved having a Rhys episode! Whee! Good damn decision not to kill Rhys. His presence adds a nice layer to Gwen's character. Brokenhearted over the poor meaty alien. Loves on vegetables. Surprisingly I felt for Owen and the tough task.

SGA was loads of fun.

Matt, I'll get 3&4 out to you.

Our wings are not tired.

Also, Tosh's continued fawning over Owen is so painful and watch from the hall. She needs somebody deserving. sniff.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I've never seen Woodward sober at a convention. The last time I saw him he ranted about Angel being crap, then fell over. He IS a lovely guy, though. He also downloads stuff he's been off in BitTorrent, as the networks won't send him it. Which totally makes me love him a little.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Watched Ashes to Ashes and not feeling the large love. It does have a lot to live up to, but we have her waking up in the year I moved to London. It's very distracting. I'll not give up on it for an ep or two yet, though. In which time they'd be well served easing off the Miami Vice shit.

Oh, and what the fuck was up with that hair in the SGA preview for next week?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Saw tonight's BBCA airing of TORCHWOOD and basically all I have to say is good episode and poor Tosh.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't a nice guy, or that he was a mean drunk. (He was apparently sober and very sweet the one time I met him.) But showing up at scheduled public appearances so sloshed that you can barely speak coherently is not a good sign. And his drastically changed appearance since 2004 says it isn't just a case of drinking to calm the nerves at the occasional con—when I first saw his Pegasus 3 photos I thought they were of J. J. Abrams having a really bad day. I find myself kinda hoping he has friends and family willing to stage an intervention.
