Sir? I'd like you to take the helm, please. I need this man to tear all my clothes off.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Matt, I remember you were lamenting the idea of no more Sean Maguire in Cupid--did you know he's the lead in Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire on Comedy Central?

Yep, embarrassingly enough I have all three episodes to date recorded to DVD (though only the first two were funny). Thanks for thinking of me!

By the way, Sean's supposed to re-appear on next Tuesday's Cupid.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Do you have to wait a week, Shir?

Hope not, but probably will.

One isn't pretty when have to wait to emotional season finales with the feeling that they'll end up bad, you know.

Edit: gonna watch JE now. Wish me luck. gulp

Mwahahahahahahahaha!

For mine is an evil laugh.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Post-watch:

Umm, eh. And no.

I don't know what to think. Some flaws. Some genius parts of sentences. One time I nearly threw the keyboard at the monitor with rage. Solutions borderline silly with stupid and "yeah, there's no choice, I know, but you did things better in the past".

Sometimes I wish this show writers were time lords, not humans.

Few months ago, I ran into DW fanvid on YouTube with one of my favorite songs in the history of me, Faded, by The Afghan Whigs. Only it had some of the scenes of the 4th season finale, and once I understood that I stopped watching, cursed the uploader for not giving spoiler warning and wanted to watch that again ever since. But it's gone, now.

And again. No. Just no. Maybe I'll be able to formulate that no into words later. Right now, I have just this bloc of "no" in my throat.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

There were definite moments of awesomeness - yes, in my head Jack gives Sarah Jane a real good time some night when her son is out with friends - but the resolutions of each storyline were ... not of the good.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

but the resolutions of each storyline were ... not of the good.

The ending of Harriet Jones’ storyline was perfect.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Harriet Jones was awesome.

Donna, however, wrecked me.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

ahaha, I remember when we watched the Stolen Earth, TomW FLIPPED like a mammal when it was over. "UNPRECEDENTED!!"

I just blogged on some random S4 musings on LJ, inspired by recent listenings of the orchestral soundtracks. [link] (discussion of Donna's fate and the Song of Freedom lies therein.)

In retrospect, I have no issues with the characters' storyline resolutions. Life goes on for these people, without the Doctor. And life goes on for the Doctor, without real companionship. It will always be so. He even had to watch River Song die.

I just wish Billie Piper had worked out how to talk like Rose.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I don't know. I feel like I went to the whole usual emotional places DW makes me go to, but not for the same, solid good reasons.

And I don't know if I should use the spoiler font here, but the whole divided human half whatever Doctor... don't know what to think.

Yeah, that was weird. I don't think you need to do spoiler font here, I think I was doing it for your benefit before!
