Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Also, so very tired of Sam having to constantly coddle and apologize to Andi, something I'd hoped was a thing of the past once she knew about the existence of the supernatural and its role in his life.
In all fairness, he was apologizing for something that was very real world- taking off and not telling her where he was. And he was an idiot for giving the letter to Sock to mail. She was right to be angry about that, because you don't give anything to Sock if you really want it to get done.
I was unhappy that the just "made up" at the end, because he
might
have a chance to get out of his deal with the Devil.
And was anyone else suspicious about that? Not that I wasn't happy to see Sean Patrick Thomas on my screen (theatre alum from my school, go Hoos!), but why wouldn't the Devil's device work? So if you sell your soul, but manage to get out of hell, you're free? WTF?
I thought the guy was the escaped souls' living human Renfield, and was pretending otherwise so he could get the Vessel from Sam and release them all again. But the Devil's compliments about catching them would seem to belie that.

True, but at the same time you'd think it might occur to her that a guy working for the Devil and getting constant visits from his boss could occasionally run into issues that would interfere with being an attentive boyfriend. Ditto for someone who got to see his father buried alive by demons. I forget, does Andi know what Sam found out about supposedly being the Devil's son? That little nugget of information could certainly be expected to send someone off the rails.
btw? a letter is so old school. what happened to a voicemail? do they not have phones?

yes, but when you call, they might answer the phone and then you have to actually talk to them.
Any Sarah Connor Chronicles fan needs to read this post about the last episode. It's so good it got linked on the official blog.
Thanks P-C. That was very well done.
Being Human question:
Did Owen get captured for food? Was that him with shorter hair who appeared to Annie
in episode 6
to plead for the ones still living?
Mitchell wasn't really the
brightest of them,
was he? I couldn't help but hearing
"Turn two--the rest are food"
throughout most of the
vampire sales pitch.
Reaper: I didn't mind Sock too much in this episode, but some growth would be nice. I would have rather they had been able to keep the apartment. It wasn't a bad episode, but I was expecting something more exciting after last season's finale. I want an explanation for why Sam would come home after being away for so long and not check up on his mother. As far as he knows his dad is still dead and mom is a widow.
Being Human:
ita, I had the same
pyramid scheme
thought.
The one who
came to plead for the others was the one who spoke in the 'pantry'
when they found it. In other words
not Owen.
Who, it turns out
really screwed his own pooch with
the sudden
truth telling. Did serve him
totally right. He ought to have had a lot more screaming and suffering.
But I'm fairly certain we havn't seen the last of him.
My favorite character was
Josie. Bless her wise and pragmatic heart.
It was beautiful when Mitchell was
mourning her with the blood still on his mouth.
I was not at all surprised but was super creeped out when the
kid walked up out of the Tube. I'd have thought his mother was a smart as Josie, but I guess not.
That simple, "I'm hungry" gave me the chills.
OH! And George!! How much do I love,"
This doesn't deny my humanity. It proves it."
Awesome. Though I thought the resolution of that particular baddie was a bit anti-climatic, given the build up.
I'm looking forward to the next batch of eps to see how all those consequences play out.
Being Human: I should have waited until the end of the ep to ask the
Owen
question, evidently. That cleared that right up. The person that his
doctor placed a call to--Jarrett? Is that a new name?
Also, my audio went a bit wonky when Annie asked Mitchell why
she could suddenly do [blank]. He answers that it's because she turned down death. Do you remember what newfound power she was wondering about?
George is a cutie. I did wonder if
Nina was going to kill herself in that last shot, after she revealed the scratches,
though.
I agree with you on the anti-climactic thing. There wasn't a sense of proportion to that resolution.
I assume we're to assume that Mitchell's judgment was
tainted at the time he suggested turning the kid, but, like you--I thought the mother was going to turn him down.
How do you transpose
the drug addiction metaphor onto a kid properly?
Can't turn out well.
Speaking of British sff, has anyone seen "No Heroics?" [trailer]. Can't decide if I want to bother obtaining it. The friend who sent me the link said it reminded her of us in university, which can't be a compliment.
