I got a BSG Season 2 disk via Netflix yesterday, and wanted to ask: Is Ron Moore a jackass on all the podcasts? I'd heard from assorted fans about his wife ruining them, but the one I started to listen to was Moore alone, and after his second rant about message boards and whiny fans I pushed stop and decided this is someone I don't ever need to hear more commentary from.
William ,'Conversations with Dead People'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I dunno, I don't recall him ranting about whiny fans very much on the podcasts. I do think he comes across as having a pretty high opinion of himself, but it didn't ruin the podcasts for me. OTOH, I have a low threshold for podcast quality since I only listen to them while doing something else.
I haven't heard every podcast, but I am somewhat surprised to hear he complained about the message boards. I don't recall him doing that in the ones I listened to.
I find the information he imparts generally is interesting. Note, I NEVER listen to them while watching the show, always after I watch the ep.
I don't remember him ranting about the message boards until S3, but it's possible I've blocked out his earlier stuff.
He's a total jackass, but sometimes he gives interesting info (talking about how the ep was originally concieved and the changes that were made along the way) so I keep listening.
I find it really interesting as well. One of the things I found interesting is how there wasn't a lot of forward planning with the story arcs which sometimes explains a lot.
But I thought the Cylons had a plan!
So we know that Ron Moore isn't a duck Cylon?
But I thought the Cylons had a plan!
Judging by what the Cylons have accomplished, not a very good plan, sort of like Cheney's plan for post war Iraq.

This is me, except I'd say "can be kind of a" jackass "sometimes." I do remember the podcast you're talking about, Matt, and I remember thinking @@, dude, comes with the territory, and just because you think it, doesn't mean you need to say it out loud. On a recording. If you engage with fans, you're going to get the horns sometimes.
Any Sarah Connor Chronicles fan needs to read this post about the last episode. It's so good it got linked on the official blog.
